We're shouting a BIG HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our CEO, Nic Carlisle! 🎉🎂

Sweet, kind, funny, and just an all-around good human being, we're so lucky to have him leading our team! A few of us got together for some pizza and an early birthday celebration, and we had the best time!

Happy Birthday, Nic! We hope your day is as wonderful as you are! ❤️

Yesterday, we had a great time at the Kick Drugs Kickball event hosted by the Addiction Prevention Coalition!

It was a day of community, connection, and a little friendly kickball competition, all while supporting Jefferson County Drug Treatment Court participants and raising awareness about recovery.

Great food, valuable recovery resources, and a community coming together to show that compassion, support, and second chances matter!

A huge thank you to the Addiction Prevention Coalition for bringing everyone together for such a meaningful event!

Our CEO, Nic Carlisle, attended Wednesday’s “Protect Our Healthcare” event at Cooper Green, where our Enroll Alabama Assistant Project Director Mark Linn served as a panelist during a discussion with House Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi and U.S. Representative Terri Sewell participating in the roundtable conversation.

As an ACA Navigator, Mark shared firsthand experiences of Alabamians facing higher health insurance premiums following the expiration of enhanced ACA subsidies.

The conversation highlighted rising healthcare costs, the risk of losing coverage, and the need for Medicaid expansion in Alabama.

We’re incredibly proud of Mark for representing Enroll Alabama and bringing the real experiences of Alabamians into these important conversations.

Because access to affordable healthcare matters, and every Alabamian deserves coverage they can count on!

Last night was a BIG night for AIDS Alabama’s Latine program, CALA (Centro de Acceso para Latinos de Alabama), as we celebrated the grand opening of their new Center for Latinos of Alabama!

We were thrilled to join the CALA team for the ribbon cutting and celebration of their beautiful new building!

We couldn’t be more proud of this exciting expansion and what it means for the communities CALA serves. More space, more resources, and even more opportunities to make a difference!

Congratulations to the entire CALA team! We’re so proud of you and can’t wait to see all the amazing things ahead!

Today is National Latinx AIDS Awareness Day!

HIV awareness is about more than knowing your status. It’s about breaking down stigma, increasing access to care, and making sure Hispanic and Latino communities have the information and support they deserve.

HIV is treatable, and people living with HIV can live long, healthy lives with proper care and treatment.

At AIDS Alabama, we believe everyone deserves access to healthcare without fear, judgment, or stigma.

Know your status. Get connected to care. Help end HIV stigma.
