Ramona Renteria

In Loving Memory of Ramona F. Renteria

With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend, Ramona F. Renteria, of Bisbee, Arizona, who passed away peacefully at home on June 6, 2026, at the age of 88.

Ramona was born on May 18, 1938, in Cumpas, Sonora, Mexico, to Teodoro Figueroa and Ramona Abril. She later made her home in Bisbee, Arizona, where she built a life centered on family, friendship, and caring for others. She was the youngest of eight children and the last surviving member of her beloved family of brothers and sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Julio Figueroa, Juventino Figueroa, Jesus Maria Figueroa, and Juan Figueroa, and her sisters, Maria Jesus Medina, Dora Peralta, and Elia MacMurtrie.

Ramona was also preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Gildardo S. Renteria, who passed away on September 25, 1999, and by her beloved daughter, Carmen Renteria, who passed away on June 3, 2015.

She leaves behind her daughters, Ramona Maria Renteria and Marisol Renteria, who were blessed to call her Mom and to be loved by her every day of their lives. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Marco Ballesteros, Alexis Lewis, Ashley Brookins, Eric Necoechea, and Jay Renteria, and by her treasured great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Domonic, Lilyana, Audrey, Romy, Gianna, and Marinelle and Andres, who lived with her and who brought endless joy to her heart.

Ramona is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and godchildren whom she helped raise and loved as her own children. Her love knew no boundaries, and she opened her heart and home to family whenever they needed her. The bonds she shared with her them were a testament to her generous spirit and the nurturing role she played throughout her life.

For many years, Ramona cared for children in her home. What began as a job quickly became her calling. She poured her heart into every child she cared for, and to so many she became simply known as "Nana." The love she gave never ended when those children grew up. Many returned to visit her as adults, bringing their own children to meet the woman who had helped raise them. That was the kind of person Ramona was-someone whose love stayed with you for a lifetime.

She had a gift for making people feel welcome. She truly never met a stranger. Whether you knew her for five minutes or fifty years, she greeted you with warmth, kindness, and a smile that made you feel at home. Her door was always open, her table always had room for one more, and her heart was big enough for everyone.

Above all else, Ramona loved her family. Her greatest happiness came from being surrounded by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and the many people she considered family. She celebrated every milestone, treasured every visit, and created countless memories filled with laughter, stories, hugs, and unconditional love. Her family was her pride and joy, and she made sure each of them knew how deeply they were loved.

The world feels a little less bright without her in it, but the love she gave so freely remains. We will miss her voice, her laughter, her wisdom, her strength, and the comfort of simply being in her presence. Though our hearts are broken, we are grateful for the many years we were blessed to have her and for the countless lessons she taught us through her example of kindness, generosity, and love.

To know Ramona was to love her. Her legacy lives on in the family she adored, in the lives she touched, and in the many people who will forever remember her as Nana.

She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

Pallbearers will be Alexis Lewis, Marco Ballesteros, Jose Dagnino, Jesus Macmurtrie, Jay Renteria and Chico Macmurtrie. Honorary pallbearers are David Macmurtrie and Efren Denogean.

Viewing will be on Thursday, June 11th, 2026, from 4:00-8:00 pm at Alex Espinosa Bisbee Funeral Home.

Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm during the viewing.

Mass will be Friday, June 12th, 2026 at 9:00 am at St. Patricks Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery on Old Douglas Rd.Following the services friends and family are invited to continue and celebrate Ramona's life at VFW POST JAMES MURPHY #836 at 1326-HWY 92 following the burial.

James Allen Thursby

In loving memory of one James Allen Thursby,

James Allen Thursby, 54, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away peacefully on June

1, 2026, at TMC Hospice "Peppi's House". A viewing will be held at the Alex

Espinosa Funeral Home on June 18, 2026, church services will be held on

June 19, 2026, at First Baptist Church, followed by a burial at the Southern

Arizona Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Sierra Vista, Arizona. A celebration of

life event will be held in Sierra Vista, Arizona.

Born in Phoenix, Arizona, on July 14, 1971, James, nicknamed "Jimmy", grew up

in the small town of Bisbee, Arizona. After graduating from Bisbee High School

in 1989, Jimmy moved around before settling in Tucson, Arizona, where he

enlisted in the United States Navy in 1992. He served 20 years as a Navy

Seabee (U.S. Naval Construction Force) with a tour in both Iraq and

Afghanistan, with an honorable discharge in 2012. During his time as a

reservist in the Navy, Jimmy started a long and storied career with Law

Enforcement starting 1993 with the Arizona Department of Corrections,

Federal Bureau of Prisons, and the United States Marshals Service totalling 32

years of government service before retiring in 2025.

During his lifetime Jimmy enjoyed a number of activities both quiet and loud,

from the calm serenity of camping, fishing, and hiking, to the excitement of

concerts, travel, and family celebrations. Jimmy strengthened family bonds

through his organization and participation in many family events and outings

with his sons, nieces, and nephews. He enjoyed reading and watching many

westerns particularly from the works of Louis L'Amour and performances by

Clint Eastwood.

In his legacy, Jimmy is survived by his wife, Linda, and three sons, Dylan, Tyler,

and Jaden, along with his many beloved pets. He will be remembered as a

loving father, with an unwavering kindness, a fighting spirit, and a dedication to

his family. His legacy lives on through the love he gave so freely and the

wisdom he shared with others.

Friends and family are invited to attend a viewing which will be held at the

Alex Espinosa Funeral Home (1094 AZ-92, Bisbee, AZ) on June 18, 2026 from

4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. On June 19, 2026, church services will be held at the

First Baptist Church (1173 AZ-92, Bisbee, AZ) at 10:00 a.m. directly followed by

a burial at the Arizona Veterans' Memorial Cemetery (1300 S Buffalo Soldier

Trail, Sierra Vista, AZ).

Maria Carabeo

Maria Teofila Romero Carabeo at the age of 87 entered eternal life to be with her Father in Heaven. Her passing was on Tuesday, May 26,2026 at Mesilla Valley Hospice "La Posada" in Las Cruces, N.M. Maria was born on November 15, 1938, in Naco, Sonora Mexico, to Maria Antonia Guitierrez and Eduardo Romero. She's proceeded in death by her husband Frank E. Carabeo, son Frank Jr Carabeo, daughter Irma Torres, her parents and siblings. Maria is survived by her siblings Blanca De la Rosa, Eduardo "Lito" Romero, Ramon Saavedra, her children Carlos Carabeo (Silvia), Yolanda Montez (Alfonso), Sylvia Dominguez (Daniel), Eddie Carabeo, 20 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren. Maria grew up most of her young life, on a ranch in Mexico and attended school in Naco Sonora Mexico. Maria married Frank E Carabeo on June 30, 1956, then had her first child Frankie, following Carlos, Yoli, Irma, Sylvia and Eddie. Maria was a loving wife, loved to cook, bake for family, friends and anyone who came to her home. Maria loved God and faithfully served the Catholic Church. Maria was very well known and respected for the great love she had for her family, friends and will be greatly missed by many. May she Rest in Peace. In the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit .. AMEN So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10

On Memorial Day, we honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country—those who never made it home, but whose legacy lives on in the families, communities, and freedoms they helped protect.

In our profession, we are reminded that behind every name is a story… a life filled with moments, relationships, and meaning. Today, we hold space for those stories and for the families who carry them forward.
