A fall reminder: Check your home or the home of loved ones for potential tripping hazards. Falls in the home are a major source of emergency room visits. Get cords up off of the floor and make sure carpet lays flat. Remove rugs that might move or cause a trip. Consider upgrading a walker to a model that works better for a loved one.

Feeling isolated? Sharing your story provides empowerment and connection. Whether you feel a need to connect in person or online, or just document your day, you will feel the benefits of getting it out of your system. Consider a support group suited to grief or caregiving or recovery. Get a journal going. Whatever suits you best is what we wish for you.

181 Ranch
3913 E. 181st Street South, Bixby, OK
Cost: $8
Gather the family and put on your costumes for a Halloween Hoedown at 181 Ranch. Designed to be fun without being too spooky, the evening offers plenty of Halloween activities for kids and their grown-ups.

Max Entertainment will keep the music going with Halloween favorites and dance tunes, while Tribe Circus Arts performs throughout the evening. Families can also enjoy a not-haunted hayride, petting zoo, barrel train rides, photo booth, pumpkins, food trucks, and a special “Stall Crawl” featuring games and candy from participating small businesses.

The event is for all ages, but children must attend with an adult and adults must be accompanied by children. Family-friendly costumes are encouraged; overly scary, gory, or inappropriate costumes are not permitted. The hayride will get dark after sundown, but there are no additional scares or surprises along the way.
