Are you suffering from constant stress, racing thoughts, restless sleep, mental exhaustion, or that feeling that your body just won’t fully relax?

I offer a deeply calming Ayurvedic-inspired experience that may be exactly what your mind and body need: Shirodhara with Abhyanga oil massage.

The session begins with Abhyanga, a warm full-body oil massage using slow, rhythmic movements to help ease physical tension and encourage your body to settle.

Then comes Shirodhara. While you rest comfortably, a gentle stream of warm oil flows continuously over the center of your forehead. It’s quiet, soothing, and gives your mind a chance to slow down for a while.

This experience may be a good fit when you’re dealing with:

💜 Ongoing stress or mental overload
💜 Racing thoughts and difficulty unwinding
💜 Restless sleep
💜 Physical or emotional exhaustion
💜 Muscle tension from carrying too much for too long
💜 A need to feel grounded, cared for, and deeply rested

Sometimes a quick break just isn’t enough. Your body may need time to truly slow down, breathe, and let go.

And yes, your hair will be oily afterward. Very oily. I recommend planning a quiet trip home, wearing something comfortable, and bringing a headband or hair tie. Some people wash the oil out right away, while others choose to leave it in a little longer.

Please let me know about any allergies, skin sensitivities, pregnancy, recent surgeries, or health concerns when scheduling so we can decide whether this experience is appropriate for you.

Curious about Shirodhara with Abhyanga?

On my way to Viroqua to donate my time doing chair massages, and this was the view along the way.

This is my second time helping out there, and honestly, I love being able to use what I do to help others.

A peaceful drive, a little fog in the hills, and a full day of making people feel better.

Not a bad way to start the morning. 💙

What’s the prettiest stretch of road you’ve traveled on?

Today I will be at the 7th Annual Coulee Region Summit!

This will be my second year attending, and I truly love being part of this event. I’ll be onsite throughout the day providing FREE chair massages for attendees through Heart Line Counseling and Consulting. 💆‍♀️💆‍♂️

The summit brings together educators, clinicians, law enforcement, and community partners for a full day of learning, collaboration, and trauma-informed strategies that support children, families, and communities throughout our region.

This year’s summit features keynote speaker Charlie Appelstein presenting “No Such Thing as a Bad Kid,” along with breakout sessions focused on Teen Court success stories, lived experience, recovery, resilience, and hope.

Throwback Thursday: Traditional Thai Yoga Massage

For this Throwback Thursday, I’m looking back at one of the most unique techniques I’ve learned, Traditional Thai Yoga Massage.

It’s very different from what most people picture when they think of massage. There’s no massage table, no oil, and no need to undress. You stay fully clothed in comfortable, loose-fitting clothes while the session takes place on a padded mat on the floor.

Thai yoga massage combines rhythmic pressure, assisted stretching, gentle movement, and traditional energy-line work. I often describe it as a little like having someone guide your body through yoga while you relax and let me do the work.

During a session, I may use my hands, forearms, elbows, and body positioning to support your body through different stretches and movements. You do not need to be flexible, athletic, or experienced with yoga. Everything is adjusted to your comfort level and what your body can comfortably do that day.

Traditional Thai Yoga Massage may be a good fit if you:

💜 Spend a lot of time sitting or working in one position
💜 Feel stiff through your hips, shoulders, or back
💜 Want to improve flexibility and range of motion
💜 Carry tension throughout your body
💜 Prefer to remain fully clothed during massage
💜 Want something more active and interactive than a traditional table massage

The movements can help encourage mobility, ease muscular tension, and give your body a chance to move in ways it may not get to during everyday life. Some people also find the rhythmic pressure and supported stretches deeply calming.

Thai yoga massage has roots in traditional Thai healing and includes influences from yoga, acupressure, Ayurvedic practices, and Buddhist traditions of care and compassion. Traditional sessions may also focus on energy pathways known as sen lines.

While many people find the experience relaxing, it can also be dynamic. You may be gently rocked, stretched, twisted, or moved into supported yoga-like positions. The goal is not to force your body or see how far you can stretch. It is to work with your body and help it move more comfortably.

Thai yoga massage may not be appropriate for every person or health condition. Please let me know about any injuries, surgeries, pregnancy, osteoporosis, heart concerns, blood pressure issues, diabetes, cancer treatment, or other medical conditions before scheduling. Depending on your health history, I may recommend checking with your healthcare provider first.

Wellness Wednesday: Your body usually gives you signs before it forces you to slow down.

Maybe it starts with tight shoulders, headaches, poor sleep, irritability, low energy, or that constant feeling that you just can’t fully relax.

Those little signs are worth paying attention to.

Massage can give you time to pause, reconnect with your body, and address tension before it becomes harder to ignore. Every session I offer is adjusted to your comfort, your goals, and what your body needs that day.

You don’t have to wait until you feel completely worn down to take care of yourself.

What has your body been trying to tell you lately? 💜
