We are sad to share that Beverly Lien of New Glarus, Belleville and Blanchardville died yesterday morning, surrounded by her family at her apartment in Fitchburg.

It's hard to lose a great and active church member, especially a music leader with the talents that Beverly had.

Please keep her children Mike, Michele and David in your thoughts and prayers as well as her family and friends.

Happy Homecoming Week, Blanchardville!

We're excited to be part of the festivities this week and have been busy getting ready for the weekend.

Here's a look back: our 3rd-generation funeral director and owner, Rex Saether, in his senior class photo from Blanchardville High School's Class of 1933. Our family has been proudly serving this community for 146 years, and Homecoming has always meant a lot to us.

Thanks to the Blanchardville Historical Society, class photos from decades of Blanchardville graduates are hanging in windows all over town this week. Keep an eye out and see how many familiar names you recognize, including a few more Saethers along the way!

If you know our owner, Paul Saether, you know that he has a great interest in the history of funeral service & the history of hearses. In 1990 Paul & his father Tom bought this 1969 Cadillac ambulance & hearse to enjoy as an antique. Other funeral homes also hire us to use this car for publicity in parades, shows & to use for funerals.

Saturday night the Hoffman-Schneider-Kitchen Funeral Home in Dubuque, Iowa hired us to show the car at their cruise in at their funeral home.

It was a perfect night. Theresa asked me to give a little story about the car for their page.
