๐๏ธIn Loving Memory of Our Baby Bern๐๏ธ
He wasnโt just a puppy. He was the shadow at our feet, the warm weight pressed against our legs, the reason we smiled after long days. He was all oversized paws, clumsy zoomies, lanky legs, and the kind of dorky personality that made it impossible to stay sad around him. He never quite figured out how big he was, but somehow he always knew exactly how much love to give. His greatest accomplishment was helping us heal after the loss of Major.
Nerd adored his mom with every piece of his heart. If she moved, he followed. If she sat down, he was already there. And his aunts? They never stood a chance. He knew exactly how to score snacks, bread, and treats by gazing up at them with his big amber brown eyes.
His prized possession was his beloved Ka-Chow blankie, a treasure that brought him comfort no matter where he was because he was the biggest Lightning McQueen fan. And if someone asked if he wanted to go on a hot girl walk, his entire body answered before his legs ever could. Every walk was an adventure, every breeze worth sniffing, every moment another chance to simply be happy.
He taught us that love doesnโt have to be complicated. It can be as simple as leaning against someone you trust, carrying around a favorite blanket, or wagging your whole body because your favorite people walked through the door.
At only eight months old, he should have had countless more hot girl walks, countless more naps with his Ka-Chow blankie, countless more years of making us laugh with his wonderfully goofy soul. Instead, weโre left with silence where there should have been the sound of paws on the floor.
We would have given him the world if weโd had the chance and we certainly tried. In return, he gave us everything he had in the time he was here. Run free baby boy. Be faster than fast. Be quicker than quick. You are speed. Keep your blankie close until we can hold you again.
Thank you for making our lives infinitely brighter by fitting a lifetime of love into a few short months.๐
