There’s something grounding about putting your hands in soil.

AJ painted these boxes.

We filled them with compost and soil together.
And today we’re planting herbs outside the shop.

In a season with so many shifts — selling the farm, preparing for new land, watching our son step into the Marines — it feels good to plant something steady.

Growth doesn’t always have to be loud.

This Saturday is our Adventure Herb Walk.

And this one is a little different.
We won’t be sitting in a classroom.

We’ll be walking the park together — learning in person:
● How to identify common plants
● How they have traditionally been used
● What parts are used
● Basic safety considerations
● How to begin confidently (without overwhelm)

Herbalism isn’t meant to be learned only from books.

It’s meant to be seen.
Touched.
Recognized in real life.

So apparently this weekend is Memorial Day.

I thought it was next weekend.

Which explains why only one sweet soul registered for our Local Adventure Herb Walk at the park.

So here’s the update:
The Local Adventure Herb Walk has been rescheduled to
Saturday, May 30th

Same time.
Same park.
Same learning.
Just a different (less holiday-conflicted) date.

If you were busy honoring family this weekend — I completely understand.

There are a lot of shifts happening right now.

At home.
At the farm.
In the shop.

I’ve been sitting here this morning — journal open, Fruits of the Spirit tea in my Be Still and Know mug — praying for wisdom and discernment.

We are putting our home and farm on the market.

Thirty-four acres in the woods.
The land that has held so much growth, so much healing, so many animals, so many prayers.

We’re moving closer to the shop — to land that will better support the animals and growing herbs as Lavender & Honey continues to evolve.

And as we step into this next phase of life… becoming empty nesters… there is a tenderness to it.

Change always carries that.

But my biggest prayer right now isn’t for a smooth sale.
Or a fast transition.
Or even growth in the business.

It’s for God’s will.

As much as I may want something — I only want it if it is His will.
Because if it is His will, I know it will be better than anything I could imagine.

And if it’s my will?
Well… that never turns out well.

So I’m sitting.

Praying.

Listening.

Trusting that stillness is obedience.

And if you happen to know someone looking for a beautiful home on 34 wooded acres…

For wisdom.
For clarity.
For peace in the transition.

This one feels tender.

VIP Herb Walk registration closes at midnight tomorrow.

And as of right now…
it looks like this may be our last herb walk at the farm.
There’s a possibility we’ll be moving this summer.
Nothing is finalized yet — but if that happens, this land won’t be where we gather anymore.

These walks have never just been about plants.

They’ve been about:
Slowing down
Learning to see what’s growing around us
Reconnecting to God’s provision
Walking together instead of alone

If you’ve been meaning to join us…
If you’ve been saying “one day”…
This might be that day.
We don’t rush.
We don’t hype.
But we do honor moments when they matter.
