You can deeply love each other and still feel completely stuck.
Maybe every small disagreement turns into something bigger. One of you reaches for connection, but it comes out as criticism. The other tries to protect themselves, but it feels like withdrawal or rejection.
You both want to be understood. You both want to feel close. Yet the harder you try, the further apart you seem to become.
This does not necessarily mean the love is gone.
It may mean you have become caught in a painful cycle that neither of you knows how to stop.
Rachel Quell, LPC, is now accepting couples therapy clients at Loving Circle Counseling. With training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, Rachel helps couples slow down recurring patterns, understand what is happening underneath the conflict, and begin creating greater emotional safety and connection.
You do not need to be at the breaking point to begin couples therapy.
Sometimes reaching out is the first step toward finding your way back to each other.
Couples therapy is available in Bloomfield Hills and virtually throughout Michigan.
