The doctors at Vision Specialists of Michigan have made pioneering discoveries into the diagnosis and treatment of Binocular Vision Dysfunction, an uncommonly recognized and poorly understood eye misalignment condition. Those who suffer from Binocular Vision Dysfunction tend to have a small amount of vertical eye misalignment, which the brain corrects by directing the eye muscles to properly repos

ition the eyes. However, using the eye muscles in this manner overworks them and they become strained and fatigued, causing the many symptoms of Binocular Vision Dysfunction. The doctors at Vision Specialists of Michigan have developed a very detailed and specialized Neurovisual Evaluation, which allows for the accurate diagnosis and treatment of Binocular Vision Dysfunction. Using realigning prismatic spectacle lenses, the strain and fatigue within the visual system is reduced or eliminated. Patients notice significant improvement in their symptoms during their first office visit. Improvement continues over the course of several visits as the prismatic prescription is fine-tuned and customized for the individual.

"The BEST Provider Patient experience I have EVER HAD." Those are Tracey's words.

When Tracey came in for her initial exam with Dr. Debby, she expected a routine visit. What she got was a comprehensive look at how her eyes, ears, and vestibular system all work together, explained clearly and without being rushed.

That's what a NeuroVisual exam is designed to do. Not just check your prescription, but understand how your visual system is affecting everything else.

If you've been looking for that kind of care, we'd love to meet you. Learn more at the link in bio.

BVD stands for Binocular Vision Dysfunction. It happens when the eyes are slightly misaligned and struggle to work together to create a clear, single image.

The symptoms it causes are often mistaken for anxiety, migraines, ADHD, or inner ear issues, which is part of why it goes undiagnosed for so long.

Headaches. Dizziness. Difficulty concentrating. Motion sensitivity. Sound familiar?

Take our quick online quiz and find out if BVD could be behind what you're feeling.

Your game might be better than you think. The problem could be your vision.

If you've been struggling with hand-eye coordination, tracking a moving ball, or feeling "off" on the field, BVD could be behind it. Binocular Vision Dysfunction causes a slight misalignment in the eyes that throws off depth perception and stereo vision, and it's usually missed on a standard eye exam.

Swipe to see how microprism lenses correct that misalignment and what it can mean for your performance.

Have you ever left a doctor's appointment feeling like your symptoms were minimized? Like you were told everything looks fine, even though nothing feels fine?

You're not alone. A lot of our patients come to us after years of being dismissed, and what they find here is a team that actually listens.

Binocular Vision Dysfunction is real, it's often missed, and it has a name. If your symptoms have never had one, that might be why.

BVD is treated by correcting the eye misalignment using specialized microprism lenses. These lenses bend light in a way that moves the image into the position it needs to be, so the two eyes can easily work together again. Once that happens, the eye muscles no longer have to strain to compensate.

The result? Relief from headaches, dizziness, blurred vision, and other symptoms.

Most patients notice a difference right away. On average, patients report a 50% reduction in symptoms by the end of their first visit. Over the following visits, the lenses are fine-tuned to continue improving and eliminating symptoms.

20/20 vision doesn't mean your eyes are working together.

A standard eye exam checks how clearly you can see. It doesn't check how well your two eyes work as a team.

Binocular Vision Dysfunction is a small misalignment between the eyes that doesn't show up on a routine exam. But the symptoms it causes, including headaches, dizziness, brain fog, and fatigue, can be very real.

If you've been told your vision is fine but something still feels off, BVD may be worth looking into.
