Wellness Wednesday!

Today we are going to touch on the benefits of Reflexology. So first understand this is where my wellness journey started way back in high school. This is the passion that lead me to where I am now.

Reflexology allows me to help your body as a whole person(both inside and out. It touches on each of these things and so much more. Reflexology is leading the way to many new scientific break through. There is currently research using an MRI to show which parts of the brain reacts when we touch those points. Its amazing!

Wellness Wednesday!

Ever wonder why your muscles feel tight and tense?

Muscle tension is often your body's response to stress, overuse, poor posture, dehydration, or even lack of movement. When muscles stay contracted for long periods, they can become sore, stiff, and uncomfortable, limiting your mobility and affecting how you feel throughout the day.

Regular stretching, staying active, drinking plenty of water, and massage therapy can help reduce tension, improve isten to your bodyβ€”it may be telling you it's time to relax and recharge. πŸ’†β€β™€οΈβœ¨

Wellness Wednesday!!

Stored stress. Do you realize that your body stores stress in your fascia? The fascia is a specialized, continuous sheath of fibrous connective tissue. Made mostly of collagen that surrounds and separates every muscle, bone, nerve, blood vessel, and organ in your body.

In order to relieve stress from our body we need to feel safe in all areas of our lives (physical, emotional, financial). Easier said than done. I understand that. But start with some of the following ideas.

● Reduce Stimulants: Cut back on high amounts of caffeine, sugar, and alcohol, which aggravate the nervous system and mimic anxiety.

● Prioritize Sleep: Sleep is the fundamental way the body repairs an overloaded nervous system. Maintain 7-9 hours by winding down without screens.

● Yoga: such as pigeon or child's pose that open up the body and unlock physical tension.

● Breathing: Take two quick, deep breaths in through your nose (one deep breath, then a sharp second inhale to fill the lungs), followed by one long, slow sigh out through your mouth.

● Therapeutic Shaking: Stand with slightly bent knees and gently shake your hands, arms, and then your entire torso. Do this for 1 to 2 minutes.

● Butterfly Hug: Cross your arms over your chest and slowly, rhythmically tap your shoulders to calm your brain.

● Grounding: go outside and walk barefoot in the grass for 10-20 minutes. Or just lay down in it and let your body reset.

● Massage: to relax your body particularly the areas with he most tension.

● Reflexology: starts the relaxation in the feet and goes throughout the entire body inside and out. (This is one of my favorite way to reset myself)

Wellness Wednes... err Thursday!

The Memorial Day messed me up this week. Lol. So today's wellness is about forgiveness. Mistakes happen, we get behind or a day off. It stinks, it's frustrating. But in the large scheme of things it's okay. Tomorrow the sun will rise and the to do list will still be there. Breathe through the set backs. Celebrate the little wins. And see where the trail of life will take you next.

Wellness Wednesday!

It was a busy week and weekend filled with graduations and party's. Take a moment this week to do something just for you. A bath, a hike, a massage, or a class. Just take a couple of moments to do something just for you.

I took a moment to enjoy my iris.

Wellness Wednesday!!

I'm a little late again today. But hopefully everyone will understand. I wrote and was practicing my portion of a presentation for an awards ceremony tonight. (For the record, I did not do well at presenting it) I was part of a group that helped honor our High School Seniors.

As much as I do not love presenting I do love being able to give back to my community. I found an organization that I love working with. I get to teach youth from Kindergarten to 21 years old. As well as a few Adults. I give my time to teach about something that I have a passion for. And as much as I do it for the youth, I do it for me as well! It keeps me happy, it helps me remember why I do what I love.

So take a minute today, to look at what you are volunteering for. Do you do it becuase you have to? Or because you love what you do. Even when it takes you outside of your comfort zone.
