Friday was Garden Day, where the staff dressed in their garden party favorites, or dressed as gardeners! We had a spring fashion show in the courtyard and many lovely fashions were modeled! Then we had "plant bingo" in the afternoon. There were so many fun plants to choose from! Each resident that played won a plant (or opted out for $1)! The kitchen served "dirt dessert" complete with the "worms"!

Thursday was Hollywood/Glamour Day... and we had THE best DJ.. Aikong Cody See, for our Entertainment pleasure! The kitchen served a variety of dips on crackers and macaroons... and oh, those ladies and their (ahem... candy) ci******es! There was a whole lot of shakin' going on out on the dance floor!!

Wednesday was Agriculture Day here at Prairie Manor. We had a Barnyard Bash/Crop Party! Garrett brought in a couple of tractors, the Skalas brought a calf, Jackie brought a couple of goats and the Browns brought a rabbit. The residents loved the animals! Some of us also got some "corney tattoos" to commemorate the occasion!! The kitchen served "Pigs in a blanket for snack, and we played a game of "Herd the Sheep". So fun!!

We're continuing to take a look back on Skilled Nursing Care Week in a few more posts! Tuesday we took a trip to Hawaii complete with the flight announcements over the intercom. Hannah presented residents with an "Aloha" and a Leigh, followed by a presentation about Hawaii! Tim (the Dog Man) made us some Pineapple and some Banana Upside Cake... and even the pups got into the theme!

We had a Luau in the afternoon, with tropical drinks from the Happy Hour cart, and Hannah taught us how to hula! ALOHA!

We kicked off Skilled Nursing Care Week yesterday, Mother's Day, with an Ice Cream Social! Then, today we had "Hippie/Flower Child Day"! We planted flowers this morning, had a 60's/70's Sing-Along, and the kitchen made some "Pot Brownies" (complete with "w**d sprinkles"!) We had a good laugh!

Next week is Skilled Nursing Week, with a theme of "Moments in Bloom"! We have a fun week of activities planned and themed food, too, so stop on out for a visit!! Be sure to buy some tickets for our amazing raffle basket (ahem... cart)! Theme Days are as follows:

*SUNDAY May 10-- Happy Mother's Day! Ice Cream Social at 2:00 pm!!
*MONDAY May 11-- Flower Power Hippie Day! Spring planting beginning at 9:30am and a "Groovy" Sing-a-Long at 1:00pm!
*TUESDAY May 12-- Aloha! Hawaiian Day! Hear about Hannah's Hawaiian Adventures at Noon and join us for a Luau at 1:30 pm!
*WEDNESDAY May 13--Barn to be Wild! Let's have a ""Crop Party/Barnyard Bash" at 1:00 pm (May involve heavy equipment and a few furry friends!). We'll then play a fun game of "Herd the Sheep" at 3:30 pm!
*THURSDAY May 14-- Old Hollywood Glamour! Come to our special Happy Hour at 2:00 pm with our favorite DJ-- Aikong Cody See!
*FRIDAY May 15--Garden Party Day! We'll have a little spring fashion show at 1:00 pm. (We're still looking for a few more models to show your spring fashions... Please call the Activity department if interested!); We'll then play "Plant Bingo" at 3:30pm!
*SATURDAY May 16--Garage Sale Day! Prairie Manor will be selling a Grab n' Go meal in our front Pavilion! Proceeds will go towards our room renovations starting in 2027! It's also Armed Forces Day! Join us for "Patriotic Bingo" at 12:30 pm! Thank you to ALL who have served in every branch of the Armed Forces!!
