Maria “Millie” Mejia went home to be with the Lord on May 15, 2026, at the age of 73, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born in the Philippines, Millie was a loving wife, mother, lola, sister, daughter, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched countless lives.
In 2004, she and her husband moved to the United States in pursuit of the American dream. Through hard work, strength, and dedication, she devoted her life to caring for and providing for her family.
Millie had a beautiful way of making people feel at home the moment they met her. To her, food was more than a meal — it was how she showed love, brought people together, and created lasting memories with the people she cared for. Her joyful spirit, warm laughter, and lighthearted nature made people feel comfortable, valued, and deeply cared for.
Above all, Millie lived with unwavering faith in God. She reflected His love daily through her kindness, compassion, generosity, forgiveness, and unconditional love. More than anything, she wanted the people she loved to know Jesus, and she lived out her faith in the way she cared for others.
She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Fernando Mejia; her children, Israel (Eloy) Mejia and Cris Mejia Rivera; her four cherished grandchildren, Anica, Euan, Caleb, and Eleina; and her siblings, Eleanor Gonzales, Jean Dionisio, Vivian Urbiztondo, Hedy Trinidad, Celia Salas, Hector Celestino, and Jessie Celestino. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesus and Pilar Celestino.
