This time of the year is usually the most anxiety-driven time for people with . 😵 There are a lot of parties, gatherings, good food and travel, all of which can tip off your already SENSITIVE STOMACH.

When we have a flare, the first thing people tend to do is restrict eating. PLEASE DON’T ❌️ restrict food. It can make your flare last longer.

Instead, focus on: ⁠
💧 ⁠
🛌 Rest ⁠
🛁 Self-care⁠
🧘🏻‍♀️ Deep diaphragmatic breathing to help calm your GUT-BRAIN AXIS⁠
☕️ Peppermint tea to soothe your irritated gut muscle⁠

Eating for a few days can also help with speeding up recovery. FODMAPs are fermentable carbohydrates that can draw water into your gut, which can cause more symptoms during a flare-up.

♥️ Remember, your & flare-ups are NOT your fault. ⁠

💡 And when it comes to managing IBS symptoms, knowing what is causing your symptoms will be more helpful in the long run than trying to calm your stomach after a flare has already begun. ⁠
