We had such a wonderful turnout, and I'm so grateful for every person who stopped by, got a tattoo, bought a treat, donated, shared the event, or purchased raffle tickets. Your support means so much.

We're putting the finishing touches on everything and would love to see you this afternoon at our It Takes a Village fundraiser.

Things I wish more pregnant people knew:

You don't have to earn rest.

Lately, I've been feeling frustrated by how little energy I have compared to what I'm used to. Between moving, unpacking a new home, running a business, and growing a baby, there are days when my to-do list feels a whole lot bigger than my capacity.

Part of me keeps wanting to operate like my pre-pregnancy self. To push through. To do just one more thing.

But this pregnancy has been teaching me something different.
The more I've stopped fighting my need for rest and actually taken it when my body asks for it, the more everything else seems to work. My energy is better. My mood is better. My body hurts less. I'm more productive when I am working.

It's funny, because I spend my days encouraging clients to slow down, listen to their bodies, and receive care. Sometimes I need the reminder, too.

Growing a baby is work.

Rest is productive. Support matters. And you don't have to wait until you're completely exhausted to deserve either one. 💛

✨ Artist Spotlight: Sage ✨

One of the things I am most excited about for next Sunday's It Takes a Village fundraiser is welcoming Sage as the tattoo artist for the event!

Sage will have flash designs available to choose from (swipe to see a preview!), or you're welcome to submit a small, simple design ahead of time if there's something specific you'd like.

✨ Suggested donation: $75 per flash tattoo
All tattoos will be offered by donation, with 100% of proceeds benefiting our doula team and helping us continue supporting local families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

Take a peek at some of Sage's work below, and come spend the afternoon with us for community, connection, local resources, raffle prizes, and some fresh ink for a good cause. 💛

Apparently Bloomington Birth & Bodywork has expanded its services to include avian postpartum support. 🐦😆

A family of baby birds has made a home in the plant outside my studio, and honestly, I can't think of a more fitting mascot.

Nests. New beginnings. Tiny humans (or tiny birds) being cared for. Growing families. Learning as we go.

Some seasons make you realize just how much you need your village. 💛

Between preparing for a new baby, moving into a new home, running businesses, and navigating all the beautiful chaos of life, we've been feeling incredibly grateful for the support we've received from this community.

That's exactly why we're hosting our It Takes a Village fundraiser and open house on June 14th.

We'll have chair massage with me, flash tattoos with Sage, baked goods, raffle prizes, and a chance to gather with some really wonderful people.

✨Our It Takes a Village event is just 3 weeks away! ✨

On Sunday, June 14th from 12–4 PM, we’ll be gathering at Bloomington Birth & Bodywork for an afternoon of community, connection, and support as we prepare to welcome our baby this fall 💛🍂

This event is part family fundraiser, part small business open house, and fully rooted in the idea that none of us are meant to do life — or parenthood — alone.

We’ll have:
🌿 Chair massage
🖤 Flash tattoos with Sage
🎟️ A raffle with some really fun prizes
👶 Community + connection
✨ And lots of love

Okay but WHY does fresh wood flooring make an entire space feel like a new chapter? 😭✨

Spent the weekend putting in new floors at the studio and I am genuinely so excited about how warm, grounded, and welcoming the space feels already. There’s still plenty to do, but it’s starting to come together in a way that feels really good.

This little business has grown and evolved alongside me for years, and getting to slowly shape the space into something more intentional feels really special. I can’t wait for clients to see it in person (and to stop worrying about the old gross floors every five seconds 😂).

Big thanks to everyone who continues to support Bloomington Birth & Bodywork through all the messy, beautiful growth seasons. 💛

Now excuse me while I stare lovingly at flooring like a complete weirdo.
