If you only read one book about anxiety this year, consider this one.

The Panic Attack Workbook by David Carbonell, PhD is a practical resource for understanding panic attacks and learning how to respond differently when panic shows up.

If you've ever found yourself afraid of having another panic attack, avoiding situations because of that fear, or constantly monitoring how your body feels, this book offers a helpful perspective on the panic cycle.

A great book won't replace therapy—but it can be a great place to start.

Reading about flying is one thing. Practicing at the airport is another.

It's completely understandable to hope that learning more about airplanes or reading reassuring information will make the fear go away. While education can be helpful, confidence usually isn't built by collecting more information—it's built by changing how you respond to anxiety in the situations you've been avoiding.

That's why our Fear of Flying Workshop takes place at MSP Airport. You'll learn practical, evidence-based strategies and then have the opportunity to apply them in a real airport environment, with guidance and support along the way.

If flying has been keeping you from vacations, family, or new opportunities, we'd love to help.

“I feel very positive that it is possible for me to overcome my fear. Before I really didn’t think I was going to be able to overcome this. Going through the security process, took out a lot of the scary unknown for me and now I feel it’s really a simple thing that I can do and I think I could do it by myself.”

At Navigating Flight Anxiety at MSP Airport, you’ll:
✅ Go through airport security (without needing a plane ticket)
✅ Sit inside a real aircraft and practice a calming mindfulness exercise
✅ Join a supportive conversation with others who understand (led by 2 therapists)
✅ Visit the observation deck to see planes take off and land

Event Date: September 26, 2026, Saturday

Location: MSP International Airport

Intrusive thoughts are persistent, upsetting, and annoying.

But repeatedly trying to prove they're untrue or make them disappear often strengthens OCD.

Treatment focuses on changing how you respond—not eliminating every thought.

Meet Bryan 👋

Bryan specializes in helping adults navigate OCD and anxiety using evidence-based therapy.

Because he has personally experienced anxiety and OCD, he understands how exhausting intrusive thoughts and constant mental battles can be.

His goal is to help clients stop fighting with their thoughts and start living according to what matters most.

Everyone worries.

But with Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), worry can become constant, exhausting, and difficult to switch off.

The good news? Effective treatment doesn't require eliminating every anxious thought—it helps you change your relationship with them.

When you're looking for a therapist, it's easy to assume that all therapy is the same. But different concerns often require different treatment approaches.

At State of Mind Therapy, we specialize in evidence-based treatment for anxiety disorders, OCD, and phobias. That means we use approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)—all of which have been extensively studied for these concerns.

Our goal isn't simply to help you feel better in the moment. It's to help you build the skills and confidence to respond differently to anxiety so it no longer dictates your life.

If you've ever wondered what makes our approach different, this is a great place to start.

Avoidance often feels like the answer.

But every time anxiety decides where you can go, what you can eat, or who you spend time with, your world gets a little smaller.

Recovery isn't about forcing yourself into scary situations overnight.

It's about gradually showing your brain that anxiety doesn't have to make every decision.
