What should you get a postpartum person?
I love to include a variety of goodies that are delicious and serve a purpose.
Bone broth is full of hydration, electrolytes, amino acids and protein. This is an easy way to replenish minerals, decrease inflammation, protect the lining of your gut and fuel tissue repair. You can sip on it, use it to cook rice or soups!
Seaweed is an easy way to get iodine, a mineral crucial to your thyroid which is often depleted during the postpartum phase. You can snack on it, add it to rice dishes or soups.
Easy bite sized oat snacks are a great way to provide energy to your body, especially while breastfeeding or on the move. You expend more calories breastfeeding and recovering than in the 3rd trimester.
Dried fruit is an excellent way to add fiber and healthy sugars for energy. Your hormonal shifts can disrupt your bowl regularity. Extra fiber is always a benefit, and delicious!
A hydrating drink can never be a bad thing! Water, coconut water and watermelon water drinks can add hydration, mineral replenishment and just be delicious enough to keep you drinking more!
What type of snacks do you enjoy to give or receive?
