🌟💙 Congratulations to Our August Team Member of the Month! 💙🌟

Please join us in celebrating Shelly, who has been part of the Friendship Village family for an incredible 22 years! 🎉

Shelly started her FVB journey in the kitchen before making her way to housekeeping, where her kindness and genuine care for others continue to shine. One of her favorite parts of working at FVB is getting to know our residents and hearing the wonderful stories of their lives. ❤️

Originally from Michigan, Shelly moved to Minnesota in 1997 and built a beautiful life here with her husband and two children. Family is clearly a big part of what makes Shelly smile—her daughter is an EMT at the Minnesota Zoo, and her son is also part of the Friendship Village team! 🐾👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

When she's not at work, Shelly enjoys a good cat nap 😴, making her famous homemade meatloaf 🍽️, and adding to her dolphin collection 🐬—with a little help from her son, who finds her a new piece each year!

Shelly believes that happiness, family, and supportive friends are the true definition of success, and we couldn't agree more.

🌟👏 Congratulations to Our July Team Member of the Month! 👏🌟

Join us in celebrating Wolf Baptiste, who has been part of the Friendship Village of Bloomington family for an incredible 17 years as a server in our Culinary Department! 🎉

Wolf is always willing to lend a helping hand and takes great pride in supporting both our residents and fellow Team Members. His positive attitude, dedication, and strong work ethic make him a wonderful part of our FVB community. ❤️

Outside of work, Wolf enjoys playing the bass guitar and drums, spending time with family, and returning to Haiti to enjoy the beach, family, and traditional Haitian food. 🎸🥁🌴

Most of all, Wolf says our residents are like family and inspire him every day.

🎨✨ Creativity Takes Center Stage at Highwood Park! ✨🎨

On August 20, Highwood Park was filled with color, creativity, and community spirit during a wonderful Resident Art Exhibit! 🖼️🌟

Our talented Highwood Park residents proudly put their artwork on display for everyone to enjoy. From beautiful paintings to unique creations, each piece offered a glimpse into the creativity, imagination, and talents of our amazing residents. ❤️

It was wonderful to see neighbors, friends, and guests come together to admire the artwork and celebrate the artists behind each creation. Events like this remind us that there is always something new to discover—and plenty of talent right here in our own community!

🎓✨ Honoring Excellence, Empowering Tomorrow! ✨🎓

On August 11, the Foundation Advisory Committee hosted a truly special Scholarship Dinner, celebrating 50 incredible Friendship Village of Bloomington Team Members who are pursuing higher education in a variety of fields. 🎉

It was a wonderful evening filled with celebration, gratitude, and inspiration. Nearly half of our scholarship recipients were able to join us in person, giving residents the opportunity to meet these outstanding Team Members, hear their stories, and learn more about the educational journeys they are taking. ❤️

Each recipient has a unique goal and path ahead, but they all share something special—the dedication and determination to continue learning, growing, and building a brighter future. We are honored to support them along the way.

“Honoring Excellence, Empowering Tomorrow” was more than just our theme—it truly captured the heart of the evening. By investing in the education of our Team Members, we are recognizing their accomplishments today while helping empower their opportunities for tomorrow. 🌟

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make this evening possible and, most importantly, to our generous donors whose support allows the Foundation to continue providing these life-changing opportunities.

Today we celebrated an incredible milestone: 50 years of Lifespace Communities and the legacy that started right here at Friendship Village Bloomington, the very first Lifespace Community.

What began five decades ago has grown into something truly special, thanks to the friendships, laughter, and connections shared every day between residents and team members. ❤️

Here’s to celebrating the memories we’ve made and all the exciting moments still to come. Cheers to the next 50 years! 🎊

Residents in healthcare spent an afternoon playing in the clouds and rainbows...thanks to a foam cannon, a bubble machine, and a run-under sprinkler. The snow cones were tasty and added to the clouds and rainbow theme. It's such a joy to get to see and play alongside the eternal inner-children inside each of the FVB team members and residents. ❤️

❤️🩸 A Community That Gives the Gift of Life 🩸❤️

On July 9, Friendship Village of Bloomington came together to make a real difference during our Memorial Blood Centers Blood Drive—and what an incredible impact our residents, team members, and community made!

Thanks to the generosity of our donors:
🩸 44 donors registered
🩸 43 were able to donate
🩸 51 lifesaving blood units were collected
🩸 8 first-time donors rolled up their sleeves to help save lives!

These donations will provide lifesaving blood products to 113 hospital patients right here in the Twin Cities during a time when our local blood supply is at a critically low level.

Every donation has the power to change—and even save—a life. We are so proud of everyone who took the time to give, especially during this urgent blood emergency. Your kindness and generosity will have a lasting impact on families throughout our community.

A heartfelt thank you to our donors, volunteers, and Memorial Blood Centers for making this blood drive such a tremendous success. Together, we're proving that when a community comes together, amazing things happen. ❤️
