I have thee most exciting news!

Meet Lexi! She’s a wonderful addition to Excursion Counseling. She is an LCSW with over a decade of experience supporting people as they work through life’s ups and downs.

Lexi is available for scheduling as of July 23 and will have evening availability.

She enjoys working with teens and young adults who are having a difficult time navigating anxiety, depression, relationships and or trauma.

Lexi currently accepts the following insurances with more to come:
Capital Blue Cross
Geisinger Health Plan
Self-pay: $120; sliding scale

Telehealth only

Wow.. I want to thank everyone and anyone who voted for Excursion Counseling for Best of the Best (this cute little contest the local newspaper does.) As a finalist, I'd love your continued support! Find 'mental health services' under 'health services'. You do not need a paper subscription to vote 🙂

I'm up against some great competition, and I'm happy we have way more mental health services available in the area than we did when I was a kid. I love this community 💚

Nooo Excursion Counseling is not starting a coffee shop. One of my new favorite hobbies is crafting lattes and creating fun flavor combos. Here we have pistachio cake 🍰 ☕️

The importance of having a hobby is something I frequently discuss with clients.

Here are a few reasons why I think hobbies are essential:
☀️ You will have something to look forward to- something to get excited about! When I go to bed at night I am already dreaming about what concoction I will make the next morning.
🫱🏼‍🫲🏽 They can connect you with people who have shared interests and sometimes provide great social opportunities. Humans need connection!
🧘🏻‍♀️ Hobbies help you disconnect from stress
🧠 They keep your mind sharp

February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month.

I work with A LOT of teens and I have teens. They are delicate creatures. They also want nothing more than to love be loved. Friends starts establishing romantic relationships and all of a sudden they’re feeling left out. They may get into a relationship just to be in one- and that’s not always great.

You can be the most exemplary role model for your teen and they still a fall victim to an abusive relationship. Talk to them and remind them of all they are worth 💕
