UHD Hospice's 38th annual Light Up a Life event will feature a tree-lighting ceremony on Friday, November 13 at 5 p.m. at the Hospice Office in Blue Earth (125 S. Main St.).

For just $10, you can make a donation in memory of a loved one. As trees light up across our 13 communities, they serve as a reminder that although our loved ones may no longer be with us, their memories continue to shine.

Light Up a Life is an important fundraiser for UHD Hospice. Donations help provide compassionate care and support to patients and families, including services and resources that often extend beyond what insurance covers.

Trees will also be located in Bricelyn, Buffalo Center, Delavan, Easton, Elmore, Fairmont, Frost, Ledyard, Minnesota Lake, Sherburn, Wells, and Winnebago.

Patient safety is always a top priority at UHD.

Thanks to the UHD Foundation, UHD recently updated its crash carts, allowing all four crash carts throughout the facility to be standardized and organized the same way.

Having a consistent setup across all crash carts helps staff quickly locate medications, supplies, and equipment during emergencies, supporting efficient and coordinated patient care when every second counts.

This important enhancement strengthens our team's readiness and reflects our ongoing commitment to providing safe, high-quality care for our patients.

Occupational Therapist Spotlight!

We're excited to spotlight Kelsey Traetow, OTD, OTR/L, a board-certified Occupational Therapist serving patients at UHD's Fairmont location.

Kelsey's professional interests include upper extremity orthopedics, helping patients regain function, confidence, and independence following an injury or surgery. Born and raised in the area, she is passionate about helping people overcome challenges and return to the activities that matter most while caring for the community she calls home.

Kelsey's patients and their families appreciate the time, patience, and encouragement she brings to every interaction.
