Convergence insufficiency is a common vision disorder where the eyes drift outward instead of turning inward together when a person looks at a close-up object like a book or a smartphone screen. This eye coordination failure forces the visual system to work much harder to prevent double vision, leading to physical discomfort and concentration issues during reading or close-up work. Vision therapy can help strengthen the visual system and resolve issues.
