Carlos L. Bradshaw of Bluefield, VA passed away peacefully at his home on August 22, 2026. Bo, as he preferred to be called, was born December 3, 1946 to the late Harry V. Bradshaw and Oneida Hopkins Bradshaw.
Bo spent most of his life in Bluefield. He enjoyed playing baseball under the direction of Mr. Robert Hamilton and became quite good at it. Bo spent his educational years attending Tazewell County High school from the first through twelfth grades, graduating in 1965, the last class to graduate before integration. After graduation, Bo worked at Betsy Ross bakery, later moving to Detroit, MI until he was drafted into the US Army. After his discharge, he returned to Bluefield, working for Consolidated Coal, the city if Bluefield, WV and the town of Bluefield, VA.
Left to cherish his memories are Melva Brooks, Bluefield, WV, sons Carlos L. Bradshaw (Andrea) Winston Salem, NC, Travis Todd Bradshaw, Roanoke, VA, and (Lt.) Rexford Bradshaw (Valeah], Bluefield, VA. Sister, Leisa Bradshaw, (George) Winston Salem, NC, five grandchildren, Shaquana, Carliyah, Landon, Sophia, Caleb, Kacie, and Kane; and six great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, Roxanne Steele, Karen Davenport, and a host of other family and friends.
We will miss your light, your love and your laughter.
The family will receive friends at Mercer Funeral Home on Friday, August 28, 20026 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Pamela Denise Wilson Trickett, born in Bluefield, WV, February 26, 1966. Pam passed suddenly at her home on August 18, 2026, in the evening.
She was preceded in death by her father Benny Bailey.
She is survived by her loving husband Kevin Trickett of the home, son, Steven and his wife Sabrina Wilson of Bluefield; daughter, Alison and husband Ralph Fike of Lashmeet; and three granddaughters Jazmine, Trinity, Isabella Fike; mother, Geneva Bullard of Princeton; brother, Mark and wife Nadia Bailey of TN, brother, Mike and wife Melinda Bailey of Lashmeet; sister, Christy Stafford of Princeton, and many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins.
Pam was outgoing, energetic, and was always the life of the party. She was loved by everyone that knew her. She loved camping, gaming, and spending time with family.
Pam has always been active in the community. Her days in Florida were spent volunteering at the school, working with the Chamber of Commerce, and overseeing the Holiday of Lights in Jupiter, Florida. Recently she owned and operated Liberty Tax Service. This allowed her to meet and work with many in the Bluefield and Princeton area.
Family and friends may gather at The Lashmeet Freewill Baptist Church Fellowship Hall (174 Beeson Rd, Lashmeet, WV 24733) on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 4:00p.m. in remembrance of Pam's life.

Benny Wilson, 68-years-old, went to be with Jesus Christ on August 18, 2026 at WVU Princeton Hospital surrounded by his family.

He was born December 16, 1957 to Mrs. Ella Mae Wilson of Caretta, WV. Benny was married to his wife Ida-Leah Wilson for 33 years and they have seven children and eleven grandchildren. Benny was a devoted father, grandfather and Pastor. Benny worked as an EMT for 18 years in McDowell County and was a CNA for several nursing homes in both WV and VA for 15 years. Benny graduated in 1977 from Big Creek High School in War WV. He was an exceptional athlete at Big Creek in Football, Basketball, Baseball, and Track.

He later attended Bluefield State College in Bluefield WV. Benny was the Pastor of Free Mission In Christ formerly in Yukon WV following the deaths of Reverend Dewey and- Thelma Duff Jr. (his Father and Mother-in-Law). He loved and served them faithfully. He had been conducting weekly church services online since COVID.

Benny loved his family immensely and he prayed for his church family daily. Benny had 7 children: Victoria Hughes, Benny Wilson Jr, Christopher Hughes, Dominique Hughes, Aaron Wilson, Jordan Wilson and Demetrius Duff. Benny had 11 grandchildren: Leanasha, Jamichael, Ronnie, Asianai, Lydia, Adrian, Shaley, Brayden, Zayden, Camden, and Manessa. Ronald H. “Ronnie” Pennington, 86, died Tuesday, August 11, 2026. He was born September 7, 1940 in Princeton, WV. Mr. Pennington spent many years in the U.S. Army and Army Reserves.

He is survived by nine kids and grandkids.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery in Princeton, WV. The Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard will provide military graveside rights.

It is with profoundly heavy hearts and everlasting love that our family wishes to announce the passing of Brian Warwick Smith, 52, affectionately known to many of his friends as “Smitty.” Departing abruptly and far too soon Sunday, August 9, 2026, from an unforeseen medical emergency in Bluefield, WV, Brian has left his mark on this earth and a deeply lasting imprint on the hearts of all who loved him.

To encapsulate the measure of the boy and the man that Brian had become is a daunting and overwhelming challenge. To do justice in honoring him, nearly impossible. Imogene K. Coleman Dec. 23, 1941 - Aug. 14, 2026

Imogene K. Coleman, 84, passed on August 14, 2026 at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital in Murrells Inlet, SC. She was born on December 23, 1941 in Jolo, WV to Woodrow and Vada Church Keene.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Coleman, brother John Keene, and sisters Georgia Ann Laymon, Doris Landers and Angie Payne.

She was survived by her son Stephen Coleman and his wife Lisa Kolody of Murrells Inlet, SC granddaughter Madeline Rivelis of Vancouver, BC, sister Carol Lyons of Fayetteville, NC, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She graduated from Iaeger High School in 1959. She began her career in 1959 as a secretary at the Jones & Spry company in Bradshaw, WV. Imogene moved to Welch, WV in 1968 and began working for the McDowell County Board of Education. She retired as an Executive Secretary in 2002.

Imogene spent her last few years at Magnolia Bridge at Murrells Inlet, where she made many new friends, and enjoyed playing volleyball, co****le, and was Bingo Champion 2025. Graveside funeral rites will be on Thursday, August 20, 2026 at 11:00 am at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Bluefield, VA. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to donate to a charity of your choice.

Barbara Ann Dodson passed away on Wednesday July 29th, 2026 after a long battle with cancer. Barbara was born in Bluefield, WV on September 20th, 1945 to the late Willie King and Lucille King.
Barbara graduated from Park Central High School and attended Bluefield Teachers College affectionately now known as Bluefield State College.
Barbara moved to Winston Salem, NC in 1989 and worked in retail for almost 20 years until she officially retired. Barbara loved playing cards with family and scratching her lottery tickets. She enjoyed cooking and having family together for all holidays.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Willie and Lucille King, her first husband Warren Buford, second husband Gilbert Dodson, brother Sammy King, sister Erma King and daughter Kimberly Annette King.
Barbara will forever be loved and remembered by her daughter Tonya Buford Charlotte, NC, sons Marco A. Dodson and Gilbert (Jabar) Dodson Winston Salem, NC. Special son in law Marcus Cleage Charlotte, NC, Special nephew Patrick King Pheonix, AZ. Sisters- Hortense Summers (Garfield), Judy (Larry) Barron. Grandchildren- David, Danielle, Shamayla, Michaela, Charlie, Jalen, Hailey, Cian, Tyler, and Jayden. Great Grandchildren- Jewel, Crystal, Jayla, Stephen, Elijah, and Kash. Gregory Wayne Wood, age 57, of Bluefield, Virginia, passed away on August 5, 2026, leaving behind a family who loved him beyond words and a lifetime of memories that will forever keep him close.

Gregory was one of those people who loved deeply and lived fully. Family was at the center of his world, and there was nothing more important to him than the people he loved. He was a devoted son, brother, father, grandfather, family member, and friend, but to those who knew him best, he was so much more. He was a familiar voice, a source of laughter, a constant presence, and a big part of the heart that held his family together.

Gregory was also a storyteller. He loved sharing a good story, and those who knew him will remember the stories he told, the way he told them, and the laughter and memories that came along with them. His stories were part of who he was, and now they become part of the legacy he leaves behind. His family and friends will continue to tell his stories, share their own stories about him, and keep his memory alive for generations to come.

And then there were his grandbabies.

They were truly the light of Gregory’s life. He loved being their Pappy, and anyone who knew him knew just how proud he was of each and every one of them. Haiden, Braiker, Cain, Maverick, and Eli brought him a kind of happiness that was impossible to miss. Norma Carolyn White, 80, of Rainelle, West Virginia, and formerly of Glenwood, passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2026.
Born in Bluefield, Norma was a faithful member of Liberty Baptist Church in Glenwood. She found great joy in expressing her creativity and was an avid crafter who especially loved sewing, making beautiful wreaths, and creating countless handmade projects. She took pride in everything she made, and her thoughtful gifts and talents brought happiness to her family and friends.
Norma was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Thomas White.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons, William T. White and his wife, Leslie, of Salisbury, North Carolina, and Gideon M. White and his wife, Margaret, of Rainelle, West Virginia; five grandchildren, Garrett White, Madison Dale, Evie White, Kyle Duggan, and Kelsey Smith; three great-grandchildren, Houston White, Liam Duggan, and Copeland Duggan; and one great-grandchild expected to arrive soon.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Maple Hill Cemetery in Bluefield, Virginia.

Delbert (D.J. Ice) Alexander, went home with the Lord on July 12, 2026 after a lengthy illness.
Delbert is survived by his mother and stepfather, Janice and Bobby Ensley; siblings, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, and other loved ones.
Per his request, and wishes, he has been cremated.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at 12:00 noon at Mercer Funeral Home in Bluefield.
