There is a reason FCOM continues to feel like home for so many in the ENT community.

Matthew Mifsud, MD, FACS, describes FCOM as “the core for ENT in our state,” bringing together academic medicine, private practice, audiology and other members of the care team in one place.

Dr. Mifsud knows that community well. A past president of the Florida Society of Otolaryngology, he now serves as Chair of the Department of Otolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery at USF Health Morsani College of Medicine and Chief of the Ear, Nose & Throat Institute at Tampa General Hospital. His clinical work focuses on head and neck cancer, complex microvascular reconstruction and advanced salivary gland surgery.

And he’ll be back with us this November as part of the FCOM 2026 faculty, joining the session on Management of Advanced Cutaneous Head and Neck Malignancy in the Immunotherapy Era.

30 years in, FCOM continues to be a place where Florida’s ENT community comes together with providers from around the country to learn from one another, reconnect and move the specialty forward.

FCOM has become more than a state meeting. For many attendees, it has grown into a destination meeting that brings together providers and industry partners from across the country.

Cochlear implant care starts long before surgery.

Friday morning at FCOM 2026, The Cochlear Implant Pathway: Candidacy, Decision-Making, and Referral will take a practical look at how patients move from identification to evaluation, counseling, referral and treatment.

Topics include:
• Adult CI candidacy
• Pediatric CI candidacy and referral
• Real-world decision-making beyond the criteria
• Counseling and referring for non-CI providers
• A surgical overview for clinicians who do not work in CI every day

This session is designed to help providers better recognize candidates, have more confident conversations with patients and understand when to refer.

There is something special about a meeting that brings the ENT community together year after year.
