If your child’s pain is waking them up at night, it’s worth paying attention to.
As fall sports ramp up, young athletes can experience aches and pains from increased practices, games, and training. But nighttime pain shouldn’t automatically be dismissed as “growing pains” or something they need to push through.
An evaluation can help rule out concerns like stress fractures, growth plate injuries, and overuse injuries—and help determine the right path forward.
If your young athlete is experiencing persistent pain, especially pain that interrupts their sleep, consider getting it checked out so they can stay healthy, active, and confident on the field.
