PRINTED SALMON IS COMING TO U.S. GROCERY STORES
Yes, you read that right!
A company called Steakholder Foods has announced the U.S. retail launch of its 3D-printed, plant-based salmon alternatives.
But here’s the catch: It’s not actually salmon!
It’s made from plant proteins and fats, using 3D-printing technology to mimic the look and texture of real fish.
But is it healthy?
Compared to wild-caught salmon, these alternatives may have:
• Less omega-3s (EPA and DHA)
• Different protein content
• More sodium and added ingredients
And here’s something interesting: The packaging may not prominently mention that 3D-printing technology was used.
you try 3D-printed salmon, or are you sticking with the real thing?
