Well, after 17 amazing years, it's time to say a bittersweet goodbye to Injury Care & Family Care Research. đź’™

This business has been such a meaningful part of my life — and more importantly, it's been built on the people in it. The colleagues who showed up every day with heart, the patients who put their trust in us, and the friends I never expected to make along the way. You all made this work worth doing.

But here's the thing — I'm not going anywhere! I'm simply redirecting my focus and energy into growing CARE Institute, where the work of connecting patients to life-changing clinical research continues... just focusing on CArdiovascular and REnal research studies instead.

Same passion. Same mission. New adventure. ✨

For any of our current or past patients who are interested in continuing to participate in clinical research studies, we are proud to be transferring studies to Paradigm Clinical Research right here in Boise. They are a wonderful team and you are in great hands. You can learn more and explore available studies at:

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for being part of the ICR/FCR family. The business may be closing its doors, but the relationships we built? Those are forever.

Onward! 🎉

We can celebrate this every day but today marks the "official" day to celebrate life, honor loved ones, and reflect on the blessings and simple pleasures of shared moments with our family and friends.

These "new guidelines stem from the 2017 results of the Systolic Blood Pressure Intervention Trial (SPRINT), which studied more than 9,000 adults ages 50 and older who had systolic blood pressure (the top number in a reading) of 130 mm Hg or higher and at least one risk factor for cardiovascular disease. The study's aim was to find out whether treating blood pressure to lower the systolic number to 120 mm Hg or less was superior to the standard target of 140 mm Hg or less. The results found that targeting a systolic pressure of no more than 120 mm Hg reduced the chance of heart attacks, heart failure, or stroke over a three-year period."

New guidelines now define high blood pressure for all adults as 130/80 millimeters of mercury (mm Hg) or higher. Lowering the threshold for treatment was found to give greater protection against heart attacks and strokes. This means 70% to 79% of men...
