If someone promises to fix your iron in 30 days, run.
In 2015 my ferritin was over 1,000. Doctors had no idea what to do with it. I felt better within about six months.
It took three years for my ferritin to come back to normal.
That’s not a failure. That’s biology.
Most of the iron moving through you today wasn’t eaten, it was recycled.
A red blood cell lives about four months before your body breaks it down and reissues the iron inside it.
A system that turns over in months doesn’t reset in weeks.
And minerals are about ratios, never one number. When minerals are depleted, there’s always chronic stress underneath, usually for years.
You’re 20, 30, 40 years in debt, and you’re trying to replenish while you’re still losing.
That’s why the 30-day protocol moved your number, and why it dropped again the moment you stopped.
You patched a leak. The system that was leaking never changed.
What’s realistic: you can feel better in three to six months on the right path.
Labs take longer, sometimes years. Feeling better first is the sign it’s working, not a reason to quit.
If your ferritin is high, ask your doctor to rule out hemochromatosis first.
And if you’re losing blood, find out why before anything else.
