I'm posting this Tarot Advice/Wisdom because I think it's important.
Why should you Not drink alcohol while giving a Tarot reading or receiving a reading?
To me it's very simple.
It compromises both the validity of the reading and the safety of the space. I feel it is a lack of respect for The practice and The seekers journey.
The seeker under the influence may not be able to process complex or sensitive information. Alcohol can muddy interpretations and cause the person superficial or ego-driven desires rather than spiritual insight.
Ethical Tarot requires the person to be fully present. Alcohol compromises judgment.
To me it is disrespectful to perform a reading when either party isn't fully aware or grounded. I view it as a sacred connection that deserves your full conscious self.
Tarot is not a game . It is not something to take lightly, if you are truly seeking knowledge and guidance.
Alcohol specifically can muddy interpretations, which means you could be giving out misguided or wrong information in a reading, and or perceiving what you're hearing in the wrong way. Whether you are giving a reading or receiving one, be responsible.
I personally would never give or have a Tarot reading at a bar, and I have seen people doing that. Even when I do readings in public where there is alcohol, I have actually turned people away who are under the influence. I won't compromise my craft or energy on somebody who probably won't remember the reading or even fully conscious to understand what is coming through for them. And honestly, why would I want to waste my time.
My advice when seeking a reading is to find somebody who is well practiced and respects the craft πŸ€”πŸ«ΆπŸ˜‰
And if you are a reader, you should know better.
