Well, after 17 amazing years, it's time to say a bittersweet goodbye to Injury Care & Family Care Research. 💙

This business has been such a meaningful part of my life — and more importantly, it's been built on the people in it. The colleagues who showed up every day with heart, the patients who put their trust in us, and the friends I never expected to make along the way. You all made this work worth doing.

But here's the thing — I'm not going anywhere! I'm simply redirecting my focus and energy into growing CARE Institute, where the work of connecting patients to life-changing clinical research continues... just focusing on CArdiovascular and REnal research studies instead.

Same passion. Same mission. New adventure. ✨

For any of our current or past patients who are interested in continuing to participate in clinical research studies, we are proud to be transferring studies to Paradigm Clinical Research right here in Boise. They are a wonderful team and you are in great hands. You can learn more and explore available studies at:

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for being part of the ICR/FCR family. The business may be closing its doors, but the relationships we built? Those are forever.

Onward! 🎉

We can celebrate this every day but today marks the "official" day to celebrate life, honor loved ones, and reflect on the blessings and simple pleasures of shared moments with our family and friends.

Sure can't wait to hear the birdsongs of spring again. In the meantime, we'll celebrate our feathered friends on National Bird Day.

A 1999 research study suggested that involvement in a support group had benefits that included "a significant increase in functional ability and activity, and reported decreased recourse to health professionals, particularly family physicians." ⠀
⠀
Have you found this to be true in your own life? Are you involved in any support groups (in person or online) for your chronic pain condition?

To study the process of establishment, and evaluate the outcome of participation, in a self-help support group for people with chronic nonmalignant pain, members of a newly-established, consumer-led group participated in two interviews 5 months apart and a researcher observed group meetings. "At the moment, migraine is the only chronic pain condition for which BoNT-A treatment is approved. But because injecting the toxin is painful, “new delivery techniques are needed before this method can be widely used in the clinic,” wrote Ralf Baron and Andreas Binder, Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel, Germany, in an accompanying commentary on the trial."

Since its initial use to treat muscle hyperactivity, botulinum toxin type A (BoNT-A), a bacterially derived toxin that blocks neurotransmitter release, has been studied for possible analgesic effects. Several studies in patients have suggested that BoNT-A can alleviate peripheral neuropathic pain, b...
