Seventeen years ago, when Rose and Elvin first walked through the doors at Edgewood Fargo, those were the famous words of their granddaughter. But after all these years, Rose has learned that the best part of choosing senior living isn’t just about the beautiful dining room, the activities, or the amenities.

It’s about having options. It’s the different levels of support within the right community that give you the freedom to keep living life your way.

Happy national senior citizen day from our Overland location, how did we celebrate our seniors? By having a senior bar, must be 65 or older to get in ID required. We had two little party crashers trying to sneak in on the SENIOR citizen bar!

How do we spend our time on the weekends you might ask? Well some residents take the weekend off to enjoy some R&R while others keep rolling with the activity.... from open arts and craft hr to board games like sorry where our residents "aren't SORRY" to laughter and chatting. What if the hardest day was actually the beginning of something better?

For Mike, that day came on a dark morning when he faced a series of unexpected challenges on his way to a VA appointment. Stranded and alone, he realized that living by himself was becoming increasingly difficult. After a hospital stay and exploring several senior living communities with his family, Mike found his new home at Edgewood Boise Overland, and he never looked back.

Now, at 70, Mike is happier, healthier, and surrounded by friends. His days are filled with laughter, activities, and, according to him, some pretty great food. But most importantly, he discovered the connection he didn’t realize he was missing.

And if you ask Mike, he’ll tell you: “I Wish I Would Have Moved Sooner.”

Half way through the week and we have had so much fun already from Monday monopoly show down where our winner of last week had to defend her title, to the cooking show where we made kebabs skewers, to a friendly game of senior volleyball, and ended the day with our signature drink of the month pina coladas🧉 Our residents are definitely feeling the Vaction vibes at Edgewood Overland!

What a honor it was to have our very own attorney General Raul Labrador come pay a visit to our Overland facility educating our residents on fraud and scammers, with our senior population this occurs more often then we realize. Residents where also assisted on signing up to vote because every voice deserves to be heared!
