No pain, more (deer) gains.

Every morning, I kneel and pray for two main things: 1. My family is safe and taken care of and 2. I have the capacity to help those I work with. I’m pretty sure every morning I hunt with Mike Morrison he prays that I don’t die or maybe that I’ll be a little less stupid than last hunt. Cause he saves my butt every time.

Turns out I have a really hard time saying ulnar. But what I can do is show you how to test yourself to see if you have ulnar nerve irritation. And if you want to keep it irritated, test it often and stretch it as much as you can.

I’ve had a question about pregnancy belts pop up 3 times in the last week. So let’s about them. I find them to be super effective to offload your sweet little baby the last bit of your pregnancy, when you’re not feeling so awesome. But make sure you have it on correctly. What other questions do you have about being heavy with child?

I’m always impressed with patient who can accomplish these single leg calf raises the first time tested. They are difficult and demanding on the gastrocnemius. Next video we will go over will cover the deeper calf muscle: the soleus.

If you have been able to complete the first two movements in this task based approach, test out the single leg hamstring bridge. You can elevate your heel using a box, chair, couch, or literally anything that doesn’t sink too much. Please note- you are likely to cramp in your hamstring if you tend to use your hamstrings a lot or have difficulty with the glute bridges. If you do cramp, squeeze your quad!

I have found among my patient population that this movement is the LEAST FAVORITE among all movements prescribed. Not sure why, but the glute bridge are super effective for improving the neural connection to glute max and improving motor control of the hip. We also use to for reciprocal inhibition for anterior hip flexors. Try 25 on each side and let me know how it goes.

Looking to get into running again but don’t feel ready? Make sure you can perform 25 reps on each side of the straight leg. See if you can perform the other 5 exercises coming up.
