Last week, ART was honored to take part in Ultimate Caduceus, a federal emergency preparedness exercise held at Gowen Field. This large-scale exercise was hosted by USTRANSCOM, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Office of Emergency Management, the Department of Defense, and the National Disaster Medical System β€” bringing together military and civilian partners to strengthen our nation's readiness for large-scale disasters and emergencies.

ART served as part of the transportation team alongside incredible community partners: Ada County Paramedics, Saint Alphonsus, St. Luke's, Air St. Luke's, West Valley Medical Center, Valor Health, and Intermountain Hospital. A special shout out to Ada County Paramedics for leading the charge and coordinating this incredible team with skill and precision.

Exercises like this remind us that true preparedness is a team effort, built on trust, coordination, communication, and a shared commitment to protecting our communities and those who serve.

Thank you to USTRANSCOM for including Acute Rescue and Transport in this critical mission. We're proud to stand ready alongside our nation's military and healthcare systems, prepared for whatever comes next. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

September 11, 2001 β€” 25 years later, we still remember.

343 firefighters. 71 law enforcement officers. 8 EMS personnel. On that day, first responders ran toward danger to save others, and thousands more answered the call in the days and years that followed.

A quarter century later, their courage still shapes who we are in this profession. We remember them, we honor their sacrifice, and we carry their example forward every time our crews respond to a call.

Never forget.

September 11–12, JUMP Boise comes alive with World Village β€” a free, family-friendly celebration of the cultures that make our community what it is. Presented by Global Lounge, the event brings together performances, dance, music, storytelling, food, and craft traditions from Mexican, Basque, Native American, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Filipino, Indonesian, Bosnian, African, Lao, Middle Eastern, Indian, and Greek communities, all under one roof.

It's a celebration built around belonging β€” a chance for neighbors to share where they come from, and for newer members of our community to feel welcomed and at home.

This is the 4th year in a row Acute Rescue and Transport is providing EMS coverage for World Village, and we're honored to be part of an event that celebrates what makes Boise such a rich and welcoming place to live.

Come hungry, come curious, and come ready to celebrate everyone who calls this community home.

On your marks - the 29029 Everesting Hiking Challenge returns to Sun Valley Resort's River Run Lodge, and it's as epic as it sounds.

Participants will spend the event chasing 29,029 feet of vertical gain β€” the equivalent height of Mount Everest β€” climbing Bald Mountain again and again until they've earned every foot of it. It's one of the toughest endurance challenges in the country, set against some of the most beautiful terrain Idaho has to offer.

Acute Rescue and Transport is proud to provide EMS coverage for this event, on standby to support every hiker taking on the mountain. Whatever your pace, whatever your goal β€” summit one lap or all of them β€” we're here to help you finish strong and safe.

To everyone lacing up for River Run this September: you've trained for this. Go earn your Everest.

September is Su***de Prevention and Awareness Month, and it's a conversation our industry can't sit out.

EMS professionals and other first responders carry the weight of this work in ways that aren't always visible. Research shows EMS providers and first responders are roughly 1.39 times more likely to die by su***de than the general public. Studies have found that about 37% of EMTs and paramedics have contemplated su***de, and roughly 6.6% have made an attempt. These aren't just numbers to us β€” they represent real people in our field, and possibly someone you work alongside.

At Acute Rescue and Transport, we want every member of our team, and every first responder in our community, to know: it's okay to not be okay, and reaching out for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. If you or someone you know is struggling, support is available and confidential.

Crisis Resources:
πŸ“ž 988 β€” National Su***de and Crisis Lifeline (call or text)
πŸ’¬ Text BADGE to 741741 β€” Crisis Text Line for First Responders (EMS providers and their families connected confidentially to a trained crisis counselor)
☎️ Safe Call Now β€” Call 206.459.3020 (confidential, 24-hour crisis referral service for all public safety and emergency services employees and their families)
πŸ’œ Text SUPPORT to 61295 β€” Next Rung Text Line (EMS providers and their families connected confidentially to a trained crisis counselor)

You are not alone, and you don't have to carry this by yourself. We see you, we support you, and we're here for you.

Labor Day is for everyone who shows up and does the work β€” nurses and healthcare workers, teachers, first responders, construction crews, service workers, and so many more across the Treasure Valley who keep our communities running.

Here at Acute Rescue, that includes our own paramedics, EMTs, dispatchers, and support staff, who don't get holidays off from the work that matters most. While much of the Valley enjoys the long weekend, our crews are on the road, our dispatch center is staffed, and our ambulances are ready β€” because emergencies don't take a day off.

To every hardworking person in our community, and especially to our ART team: THANK YOU. We're proud to be part of a workforce that shows up, no matter the day.

Happy Labor Day from all of us at Acute Rescue and Transport.
