My dear sweet niece Aggie crossed the rainbow bridge today. She was the best girl. She loved with an intensity I’ve never before known in a dog. I must have walked a thousand miles with her. Words can’t even begin to describe how much I will miss her, but I’m so incredibly thankful for the lessons she brought into my life over the last thirteen and a half years. To name a few:

• Life is too good to dwell on the pain. Pain is a part of life, but suffering is optional.

• Some fresh air and a walk will cure almost any ailment.

• I am loved even when I feel unlovable.

• Being with your people brings healing & happiness.

• Never be afraid to use your voice.

• Always listen to my big brother.

• Must respect the cats.

• Always look forward to life’s treats, because the universe will always provide them.

• The more you love, the more love you get.

• There’s no such thing as being “too much”.

Aunt Indy will never forget you, sweet girl. I will miss you every day for the rest of my life ♥️

I’ve been teaching Power Flow on Monday evenings for ALMOST NINE YEARS! It is still one of the best parts of my day.

I don’t recommend it for your first ever yoga class; do at least 2-3 slower flow classes to familiarize yourself with the names of the poses- but otherwise, don’t be intimidated to try it out!

If you keep coming back, I promise you will see progress, build strength, mobility, and confidence!

I wasn’t a little girl who dreamed of her wedding day. I didn’t know I wanted a wedding really until Nick proposed to me.

The idea of having our favorite people together with us was something my heart yearned for. That was the reason I wanted a wedding, and in all of the planning and stress I really tried to stay connected to this foundational desire: to honor quality time with our favorite people. I wanted to be witnessed in this moment together- our commitment to each other, our love for each other. It felt meaningful to me to stand before our friends and family.

My decisions for our wedding really stemmed from feeling. I knew I had found my dress because it felt like me. I chose decor pieces, the vendors, the timeline, all based off how it felt in my gut and in my heart.

It was the biggest experience I have ever created, and it was the absolute best day of my life.

The majority of my innermost circle is not geographically close to me. My amazing sister-in-law Janele M Lake (who is one of the few local to me) threw me the most amazing bridal shower the week of our wedding so that the women traveling from afar would be able to attend.

I am so incredibly grateful for my tribe.

The women in my life are profound, wise, fierce. These women have taught me how to see and create magic. They have walked with me down the darkest of paths, given me shoulders to cry on and words of wisdom when I needed it the most. They have given me the softest of places to land. They have reminded me of my own strength and resilience. They have been sacred spaces for me to share, to grow, to connect.

To have not only women from my life attend, but also the amazing women in Nick’s family was such a gift. My growing circle only deepens with women I admire and adore.

After being displaced from our old home, we find ourselves in our dream house rental for the next 18 months. I truly felt that if our house was forcing us out, then the place we were meant to be next was ready for us. Never could I have imagined a house like this!

This giant magnolia tree bloomed our first two weeks here. It felt like a warm hearted welcome to us from this place. We’ve worked so hard to put our new home together- gathering up pine needles, hand picking leaves out of the garden beds, doing all the spring cleaning in the front and back yard. We have a guest room, and are able to host those we love for the first time in our lives. This is our first home together, and it has such magic.

We’ve are in love with everything about this house, the location, and the fact that this is where we will become husband and wife. I’m so grateful to have a future husband that loves putting together a home as much as I do, and who has cleaned, mowed, organized, hung things up, and put things together. ♥️

Today my Aunt Kim surprised me with a fantastic bridal shower brunch with my Grandma and all my Philly Aunts!

I don’t get to come to Philadelphia nearly as often as I would like to, and every time I am here I am reminded of just how much I love this city (I spent all my summers here growing up) and just how loved I am by my family and friends here.

I love surprises and today truly filled my heart.

0/ 10 would recommend moving from being displaced due to a plumbing emergency two months before your wedding.

10/10 would do it all over again with the love of my life! I had a feeling that if our house was kicking us out, it was because the place we were meant to be next was ready for us.

In 2 weeks we lived in a house without running water for 9 days, looked at every available rental in the treasure valley, packed up our entire 800 sq ft house, found a DREAM rental house in the North End and moved everything out and in.

There were lots of talks and tears and so much anxiety and uncertainty, but here we are- proud renters of a home in a perfect location, that’s over twice the size of our old place; over the moon, bursting at the seams with joy and excitement. I am more excited than ever to marry Nicholas. Going through so many different hards these last 8 months has only deepened our relationship. He is the one I want to go through all hards with, he’s my partner, my teammate, my best friend.

Now, after moving non stop for days, I am currently stranded at the Chicago O’Hare airport on my way to Philadelphia to have a spa week with my aunt and my grandma. Even though these last two weeks have been an exhausting, incredibly stressful and beautiful experience- I feel energized and so very happy. It’s so interesting just how drastically life can change in a second (or two weeks), and what a giant different the people in it with you make.

P.S- let’s also give myself a shout out for sticking to my new fitness and nutrition program throughout all of this; cause that s**t ain’t easy to do when you can’t shower, use the bathroom, wash dishes, or cook in your house (I’ll never take running water for granted again). I’m down 10 pounds in 3 weeks and feeling fantastic! 🦋
