Katherine Bernice Farris, 67, of Enville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 22, 1958, in Hardeman County, Tennessee, Katherine was the daughter of the late William Burns and Nora Lee Borders Smith.
She was a member of Piney Grove Church of God and retired after many years as a factory worker. Katherine found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved cooking for her family, caring for her animals, watching television, and spending time with those she cherished most. Her love, kindness, and devotion to her family will be remembered by all who knew her.
She leaves behind her loving daughter, Ashley Farris (Daryl Hart); her brothers, Eugene Burns (Karen) and Jimmy Burns; her sister, Ruby Wyatt; her grandson, Dylan Hart; step-grandchildren, Hope Gladys, Faith Hart, and Samantha Hart; and her great-grandchildren, Madelyn Hart and Harlow Gladys. In addition to her parents, Katherine was preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Burns, and her sister, Louise Hemby.
Katherine's memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of love and devotion will continue through the generations she leaves behind. “Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but always near.”
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2026. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., with funeral services beginning at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel at Hardeman County Funeral Services in Bolivar, Tennessee. Rev. Aaron Moss will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
