Daniel “Danny” Ray Curl, 73 of Dunnegan, Missouri, peacefully passed into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Parkview Health Care Facility in Bolivar.

Danny was born at Cox North, Springfield, Missouri, on February 24, 1953, to Bueford and Neta Curl. He graduated from Fair Play High School in 1971. He was married to Dianne (Vance) Curl on September 20, 1974. From this union, Allison Rae and Ashley Rose were born. He was a farmer, farming the Curl Family Century Farm his entire life. He also worked for Doke Propane in Bolivar for over 20 years. He volunteered with the Fair Play Fire Department for many years as well.

Danny was a lifelong member of the Spring Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Dunnegan. He accepted the Lord Jesus as his Savior at an early age. He served by teaching Sunday School class, leading singing, he was the Superintendent, and Elder of the church for many years. In recent years he attended Dadeville Baptist Church.

Danny was an exceptionally hard worker who took great pride in providing for his family. He balanced early morning farm chores alongside his daily work at Doke Propane, where he deeply valued the connections he made with the customers on his route. Charles Richard Bays, 82, of Humansville, died at Lake Stockton Nursing Facility surrounded by his wife of 62 years, Rick and Ronnie, their wives, and a host of grandchildren. He was born in Springfield on April 17, 1944, to Charlie Joseph and Myrtle Lorene Seiner Bays.
Charles married Charlotte Larcom Bays on March 1, 1964, and had two sons.
Charles was always a hard worker in whatever he did. He worked at many different jobs during his lifetime. He worked at General Motors in Kansas City, Missouri, for a while, then he bought a farm in Humansville and moved there because he didn't want to raise his sons in the city. He worked odd jobs around Humansville, then worked at his brother-in-law's sawmill. While working at the sawmill, he started working at Witt Printing Co. He worked there for 40 years and retired. After he retired, he planned to do some camping and traveling, but God had other plans. He was diagnosed with two different types of cancer, which he eventually beat and became cancer-free. In 2018, he fell and hit his head, which caused a brain bleed and required two surgeries. The odds were against him, but he overcame them and went back to the farm and raised cattle with his son Rick.
His family was a very important part of his life. He loved going to Rick and the grandkids' ball games.
He was saved and baptized in his younger years and attended church later in life until he was unable to.

Glenda Irene Bays, 80, passed away peacefully at her home in Bolivar, Missouri, on August 22, 2026. Glenda was born on October 3, 1945, in Amsterdam, Missouri, to Glen Bays and Ruth Seiner Bays. A longtime resident of Polk County, Glenda was self-employed as an interior designer and commercial painter. Her creativity, dedication, and attention to detail were evident throughout her work and in everything she did. Glenda took great pride in her home and was meticulous about her yard. She especially enjoyed gardening and caring for her flowers. Those who knew her will remember her sassy, vibrant personality, quick wit, and unmistakable charm. For the last 18 years, Glenda devoted herself to her beloved granddaughter, Gracie Jane, whom she helped raise. Gracie was the light of her life, and Glenda proudly bragged about her to anyone who would listen. Glenda was preceded in death by her father, Glen Bays; her mother, Ruth Seiner Bays Underwood; her stepfather, Bernie Underwood; her sister, Judy Coffey Carmen; her sons, Hugh Dean Hagar and Roy Gladden; and her beloved dog, Gidget. Kyle Payden Sass was born on May 4, 2000 in Bolivar. He graduated from Bolivar High School and participated in Special Olympics. He passed away surrounded by loving family on August 15, 2026 from complications from epilepsy.

Kyle loved Star Wars, Legos, and making people laugh. He was a source of love, kindness, and joy to everyone who knew him. Kyle will be deeply missed by all of his family and friends.

Services will be held at Butler Funeral Home on Friday August 21st. Visitation will begin at 2:30 and the memorial will begin at 3:00.

Barbara Lee Allen, 83, passed away at her son’s home on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, in Dunnegan, Missouri. She was born on November 13, 1942, in Phoenix, Arizona.

She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Hagen, of Columbia Falls, Montana; her son, Kevin Dybdall, and Tammy Dybdall, of Dunnegan, Missouri; and her daughter, Angela Gail Watson, of Humansville, Missouri, who passed away unexpectedly in 2012.

She is also survived by four granddaughters: Chelsea Lee Dybdall of Bolivar, Missouri; Allison Faith Dybdall of Collins, Missouri; Alex Hagen of Columbia Falls, Montana; and Samantha Hagen of Columbia Falls, Montana. She leaves behind six great-grandchildren: Harper June (aka June Bug), Dakoda (aka Koda), Bentley (aka Bennie), and Raymond (aka Ray Ray), all from Kevin’s side, and Andie and Silas from Cathy’s side.

Additional family members from Kevin’s remarriage include Shane and Brandy Thornton of Springfield, Missouri; Royce and Carla Page of Stockton, Missouri, and their children; and her sister-in-law, Sandra Matin of Tribune, Kansas.

Barbara married Frank Dybdall in 1960 and was the wife of a Navy man. In the years that followed, she was a wonderful mother to her three children—all Navy brats, lol. Due to the military lifestyle, she got to travel to several places, including California and Florida. Cathy was born in Arizona, Kevin in California, and Angie in Florida.

Robert “Bob” Allen Seiner, age 96, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2026, at Parkview Health Care Facility in Bolivar, Missouri, surrounded by his loving family. During his time at Parkview, he affectionately became known as the facility’s official greeter and doorman. He loved talking to every guest and joking with the staff at Parkview.

Bob was born May 26, 1930, to Ernest and Edna Mae (Graham) Seiner. He was the ninth of their ten children. He married Helen “Darlene” Franklin Seiner on December 26, 1950, and they celebrated 73 years of marriage before Darlene’s passing in 2024. Their union was blessed with four children: Rick, Teresa, Brent, and Rocky.

Bob was a proud lifelong resident of Polk County, Missouri, where he was a dairy and beef farmer and enjoyed a career in construction spanning more than 40 years, during which he built custom homes.

Bob was a man of deep faith, finding solace and strength in his spiritual journey. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Bolivar. His life was a testament to the values of love, compassion, and kindness. He leaves behind a legacy of love and service that will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He is survived by his children, Teresa (Mike) Parson, Brent (Vesta) Seiner, and Rocky (Patsy) Seiner; daughter-in-law, Mary Seiner; one sister, Joan Wilson; ten grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Shirley Mae Van Camp, who left this world peacefully on August 4, 2026, surrounded by the warmth of her family. Born on September 12, 1939, in Goodson, Missouri, Shirley was the cherished daughter of Chester and Opal Hale.

Her life was a beautiful testament to love, dedication, and profound kindness. Shirley grew up with fond memories of working in the family store, Hale's Grocery and Bait, in Huron, Missouri. After graduating with the Bolivar High School class of 1957, she met Frank "Frankie" Joe Van Camp while he was delivering Coca-Cola to the store. They were married on April 14, 1960, and shared a life filled with devotion until Frankie's passing in 1999.

For over 25 years, Shirley was a beloved presence at Wal-Mart. She found her true calling as the cashier everyone sought out; her radiant smile and genuine interest in others left a lasting impression on everyone she served, no matter how long the line.

Beyond her work, Shirley found great joy in life’s simple pleasures, from the music at Bluegrass festivals to cherished family vacations with Frank and Scott. Her family was her greatest pride. She was a devoted mother to her son, Scott, whose achievements as a pilot filled her with immense joy. Barbara Jean March Long was born in Oklahoma on January 25, 1938 to Lucian and June Choate. She died July 12, 2026. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 50 years, David March. Then she was later married to Jesse Long. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Mary Packer.

Barbara and David had 3 children. Shirlene Watkins (Randy) Flemington, Missouri, Chris March Des Moines, Washington, Lisa Steuber (John) Bolivar, Missouri. Five grandchildren April Dougherty (Pat) Flemington, Sabra Watkins (Andrew Reeves) Kansas City, Missouri, Justin Wessels (Megan) Minneapolis, Minnesota, Logan Varner Bolivar, Laci Varner (Jacob Nuttall) Republic, Missouri. She was also blessed with 3 great grandchildren that she adored, Nora, Claire and Jack Dougherty.

Barbara grew up in Oklahoma. She met David through his sister, Pat and brother, Eddie. After David and Barbara were married they moved to Southern California. After retirement, they moved to Lake Pomme deTerre.

She loved playing the piano for pleasure and as a ministry in her church. Her dad taught her to play. Barbara could play by ear as well as reading music. She was always the church pianist and loved accompanying the choir for special pieces or programs.

Barbara also loved the outdoors, especially being in the mountains. She loved taking her children to Oak Glen in California to drink hot apple cider and eat fresh picked apples. She was a wonderful mom. All of us have great memories...

Mary Lou (Jorgensen) Kelley, age 94, of Audubon, Iowa, formerly of Bolivar, Missouri, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 2, 2026. She was surrounded by her loving family and supported by the compassionate care of the Audubon Friendship Home and hospice team.

Mary was born on April 15, 1932, in Jacksonville, Iowa, to John W. and Bessie (Nielsen) Jorgensen. On March 6, 1956, she was united in marriage to Jerome “Jerry” Kelley at the historic Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, Iowa. They shared 61 years of marriage before Jerry’s passing in 2017.

Mary was a devoted wife, loving mother, and faithful servant of Jesus Christ. As the wife of a U.S. Air Force serviceman, she lovingly cared for their family during Jerry’s military assignments across the United States and overseas. Her faith, strength, and dedication were the foundation of her family.

Mary enjoyed a rewarding career as a registered nurse and later owned and operated a sewing business with Jerry. They enjoyed traveling and creating many cherished memories together. She also found great joy in painting, gardening, quilting, and blessing others through her many talents.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome Kelley; her parents, John W. and Bessie Jorgensen; her brothers, Jack and Philip Jorgensen; her sister, Rosie Dale; and her stepson, Mike Kelley.

Iva Alcaney Cross, of Morrisville, Missouri, peacefully entered the presence of her Lord and Savior on August 3, 2026, at the remarkable age of 101.

Born on November 6, 1924, to Earnest and Lora Pierce, Iva lived a life defined by unwavering faith, steadfast love, and joyful service to others. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 48 years, Noah L. Cross, who passed away in 2003; her daughter, Carolyn; and her sons, James and Daniel.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Naomi (Mark) English, David (Phyllis) Cross, Ruth (Fred) Pratte, Mark (Sandie) Cross, Philip (Connie) Cross, and Rebekah (Alan) Young. She also leaves behind 23 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and many other family members and dear friends whose lives were richly blessed by her love and example.

The two greatest loves of Iva's life were her Lord Jesus Christ and her family. A devoted Christian woman and faithful prayer warrior, she lived out her faith each day with quiet strength, unwavering trust, and a servant's heart. She found joy in the Lord and shared that joy generously with everyone she met.
Iva will be remembered for her honesty, loyalty, loving spirit, and strong work ethic. She was full of life, enjoyed laughter, and had a way of making those around her feel welcomed and loved. Her home and heart were always open, and her legacy of faith, kindness, and devotion will continue to inspire generations to come.
