A scientific advisor, Kelly Jahn, AuD, PhD, at the University of Texas, Dallas, is studying day-to-day symptom fluctuations.

This virtual study tracks pain hyperacusis over a two-week period.

From the research team: In this study, participants complete three miniature surveys a day (not every single survey is required) about their current symptoms. Participants also complete questionnaires before and after the two-week period, over virtual Microsoft Teams meetings (captions enabled and audio not required).

Each miniature survey takes 5-8 minutes to complete, so you could spend 15-25 minutes a day answering the questions. You aren’t required to complete every survey, but the aim is for a 75% completion rate. There is compensation in the form of a virtual gift card.
