Stress has a sneaky way of changing how we breathe.
When we’re tense, breathing often shifts higher into the chest, and the muscles of the neck and upper chest can start to take over.
Your diaphragm is your primary breathing muscle, and slowing things down with a few deep, controlled breaths can help encourage a more relaxed breathing pattern and reduce the tension in your neck and chest.
Try it for 1–2 minutes:
Inhale through your nose, let your lower ribs and belly expand, then exhale slowly and fully.
Sometimes a small reset really is that simple.
