This week, members of the Horizon Renewal Center team had the opportunity to attend the 52nd Annual Behavioral Health Institute in Hot Springs — and this year’s theme, “Rising Together, Moving Forward,” felt especially meaningful to us. 💛
At Horizon, we have the privilege of walking alongside people during some of the most vulnerable and courageous moments of their lives. Recovery takes strength. It takes support. It takes compassion. And it takes people who are willing to continue learning so they can provide the very best care possible.
That is why opportunities like the Behavioral Health Institute matter so much.
Our team spent the week learning from behavioral health professionals, advocates, and leaders from across Arkansas, strengthening our knowledge of trauma-informed care, recovery, prevention, and the many ways we can better serve individuals working toward healthier, more hopeful lives.
We were especially moved by keynote speaker Tonier Cain, an internationally recognized trauma survivor and advocate whose powerful story was a reminder that a person’s past does not have to determine their future. Hope, healing, and recovery are possible.
We also enjoyed connecting with others, sharing resources and information about Horizon Renewal Center, offering positive affirmations, and talking about the services and support available to individuals seeking freedom from substance use.
And somewhere between the educational sessions, meaningful conversations, and networking, there was also plenty of laughter, fellowship, and time spent simply enjoying being together as a team.
We came home encouraged, inspired, and reminded once again why this work matters.
Every new skill we learn, every connection we make, and every resource we bring home has the potential to make a difference in someone’s recovery journey.
At Horizon Renewal Center, we will continue rising together, moving forward, and believing in the possibility of a new beginning. 🌅
