Yesterday, we reached a milestone that means so much to us at Fathers' UpLift, Inc.

Our National Fatherhood Directory now includes at least one organization represented in all 50 states.

What began as an idea rooted in one belief — that no father should have to suffer in silence — has grown into a nationwide network of connection, support, healing, and hope.

Deep gratitude to every organization, leader, supporter, and community member helping fathers and families across this country.

This is bigger than a directory. It is about ensuring that fathers and families, no matter where they live, can find pathways to support, community, and reconnection.

And we are just getting started. đź’™

I’ve been thinking a lot about Elijah this week.

Here’s a man who just experienced one of the greatest victories in his life and right after that, he ran into the wilderness and said, “I have had enough.”

That part always stops me.

Because if I’m honest, I’ve had moments like that too.
�Not because things were going wrong…�but because I was carrying more than I realized.

Pressure. Responsibility. Showing up for everyone else.

And somewhere in that, I was tired.

What I’m learning—and what Elijah reminds me—is that strong men don’t just break after failure.
�Sometimes we break after pushing too long without rest.

If you’ve been feeling off lately tired, disconnected, not fully yourself. You’re not alone. This series is personal for me. Because this isn’t just about scripture.
It’s about us.

Fourteen years ago, before Fathers' UpLift, Inc. existed, this work was just a vision.

As a fellow with the Albert Schweitzer Fellowship, I planned a summit for men at the Dimock Community Health Center in —with no office, no staff, just a group of fathers and a shared belief.

It wasn’t perfect, but it was powerful.

Now, despite the pressures facing organizations serving Black and Brown men and families—I remain hopeful.

Because we’re doing it again.

This one means a lot to me.

is now part of CBHI—offering Therapeutic Mentoring Services to young people.

This builds on the work we’ve already been doing with youth at Pacific Rim Charter School and beyond—and now we’re taking it even further.

Because when we talk about strengthening families we have to show up for our youth too.

We’re in the final stretch of hiring Therapeutic Youth Mentors.

If you’ve been feeling that pull to give back… to stand in purpose… to be present for young people—

There are moments in this work that remind me why I started.
This was one of them.

I had the honor of meeting with Kimberly Dent and Ashiko Hudson from the Ohio Commission on Fatherhood to talk about the growth of Fathers’ UpLift in Cincinnati and our upcoming summit, The Check-Up Zone, at the Urban League of Greater Southwestern Ohio.

What made it even more meaningful was being in conversation with a leader I’ve long admired in this field. To now be building in alignment is something I don’t take lightly.

I was also joined by two incredible leaders from our village, Dr. Kelly R. Little and Gayle Covington Fowler.

And then… we ended with powerful news:
Fathers’ UpLift received its first grant supporting fatherhood work in Ohio.

A real milestone.

I’ve always believed—if you can envision it and do the work, dreams do come true.
But what I know for sure is this: it takes community, partnership, and people willing to believe with you.

Grateful for the Ohio Commission on Fatherhood, GreenLight Fund Cincinnati and Erin Saul, and everyone walking alongside us.

This is just the beginning. đź’™

I still need your help, family and friends.

At this point in my life, I know what works when serving dads—but I also know Fathers' UpLift can’t serve every father who needs support.

And across this country, there are amazing organizations doing this work that many of us—especially dads—don’t even know about.
We’re changing that.

Our goal: All 50 states represented in our National Fatherhood Directory by Father’s Day.

Right now, we’re at 14 states. We need 36 more.

If you know any organization serving dads—big or small—please share the form or submit it for them. It’s free and built to ensure no dad struggles in silence because he doesn’t know where to go.

We can do this—together.

I was speaking with our Board Chair, Stephanie, about the direction of our work at Fathers' UpLift, Inc., and we landed on something that may feel counter to how impact is often measured.

We’re not chasing numbers for the sake of scale. In a time like this, we’re focused on loving the people we serve as fully as we can.

That doesn’t always align with mainstream philanthropy—but as Stephanie said, the work is all about love. And I believe love isn’t separate from scale—it’s the strategy for it.

Think about those who impacted your life most. You may not be able to quantify it, but you can still feel it. That kind of impact lasts. It spreads.

I’m sharing this as an invitation.
