When we say our job is a blessing, we truly mean it. However, sometimes it also comes with heartache. 2 years ago I lost a patient who just truly made a lasting impact on my heart. She lived an hour away and we started off with telehealth services. I quickly fell in love with her and her Momma and a friendship was formed. I tried to see them in person as much as I could. I remember her kicking a ball for the first time at her second birthday party and feeling so proud. Her smile was contagious, her sass was unmatched, and her fight was undeniable. Her 3 years on this earth were not enough, but she has made a forever impact on me. I love and miss you Hayley Jade!

Pediatric therapy isn’t just about exercises and reaching goals—it’s about helping children gain freedom, confidence, and the opportunity to experience the world in new ways. We have the privilege of celebrating every milestone alongside not only our patients, but also their families. That’s why we do what we do.

Watching him take off with the biggest smile on his face was a beautiful reminder that sometimes the best therapy happens when a child gets the chance to simply be a kid.

Most days don’t feel like work—they feel like purpose.

I’m so grateful that God allows us to use our hands and hearts to serve children and their families. Days like today remind us that this is exactly where He’s called us to be. 💙 #

The HDI Center for Assistive Technology Services (CATS) is hosting a Pediatric DME for Free Day on May 5, 2026, from 9:00 AM–4:30 PM. Families and service providers are encouraged to attend.

A variety of pediatric durable medical equipment will be available at no cost. Equipment will include wheelchairs, car seats, bath chairs, gait trainers, strollers, and activity chairs.
