Participate in a study to optimize blood pressure. - from your own home.

Our research has found that former NFL players with a high number of concussions were almost twice as likely to report high blood pressure post-career. To learn more, we’ve launched the Pressure Reduction and Electronic Support Systems (PRESS) study, which will investigate whether high blood pressure can be reduced in former players like you through a personalized treatment plan that is implemented by an expert clinical team but with participants entirely at home.

If you live in Georgia, Texas, Tennessee, Alabama, California, Massachusetts, or Washington, D.C., you are eligible to participate. First step: Fill out this contact form - https://playersstudy.me/joinust

Celebrating Brotherhood

Research has shown that a strong personal social network can have remarkable benefits for one’s health and quality of life.

One possible explanation is that the team-based, fraternal culture of competitive football persists after a player’s career has ended and accompanies him for the rest of his post-football life.

The demands of football, including the cutting, blocking, and tackling that players do is a showcase of their athleticism, but it can also take a toll on their joints.

We measured the frequency of knee and hip replacement in former NFL players through our first health & wellness questionnaire. Of the 3,913 respondents, former NFL players, 12.3% reported a previous knee replacement and 8.1% reported a previous hip replacement. Brain Health and Former Players: Know the Facts

It can all sound quite scary. As more information circulates about brain health and CTE, it's also normal to be confused - especially if you are a former player and believe you are at risk for any neurodegenerative disease.

Action steps:

-Ensure that your healthcare provider/doctor carefully listens to your health concerns and answers any questions you may have.

-Share our research (results returns) as you discuss your health with your healthcare provider.

-Be sure to discuss any concerns you may have around brain health.

-Remember to inquire about any treatable conditions you may have.
