Upham’s Community Care has been selected as a recipient of the Boston Public Health Commission’s Community Overdose Response Grant, supporting community-based efforts to prevent overdose, expand access to treatment and resources, and address the health inequities that continue to affect our neighborhoods.

This work is at the heart of who we are: meeting people where they are, reducing barriers to care, and making sure our neighbors have access to the support they need.

We are grateful to the Boston Public Health Commission and the City of Boston for investing in community-based solutions and for recognizing the critical role trusted local organizations play in addressing substance use and supporting recovery.

As our own Andrew Pinto shared in today’s announcement, this funding will help us continue closing health equity gaps while empowering our neighbors with the knowledge and resources to support those struggling with addiction.

There is more work ahead, and Upham’s Community Care is committed to doing it alongside our community and our partners.

Recovery looks different for everyone. That’s why we're continuing to invest in our community organizations, building on neighborhood support to help Boston residents connect to treatment and recovery services.

As we reflect on the close of National Health Center Week, one moment continues to stand out.

At the end of our annual Health Fair, after the workday had officially ended, many members of our team were still there—not because they had to be, but because they wanted to be.

They were helping families, answering questions, sharing resources, laughing with neighbors, and building connections that extend far beyond healthcare.

It was a reminder that community health is about so much more than appointments and medical care.

It’s about showing up.

Showing up for our patients.
Showing up for our coworkers.
Showing up for our neighbors.
Showing up for our community.

At Upham’s Community Care, our staff, our patients, and our community are not separate—they are one. Many of us live in the neighborhoods we serve. We celebrate together, face challenges together, and care for one another through every stage of life.

That’s what makes community health centers so special.

As National Health Center Week comes to a close, we thank every member of Team Upham’s for choosing to show up each and every day. Your compassion, dedication, and commitment make a difference in the lives of thousands of individuals and families.

Thank you for being there when it matters most.

💙 Happy National Health Center Week! 💙

We’re excited to kick off the week with Mission Monday—a chance to reflect on why we do what we do and celebrate the amazing people who make Upham’s Community Care so special.

Every patient who walks through our doors has trusted us during a moment when they needed care, support, or hope. The kindness, compassion, and dedication of our team make a lasting difference each and every day.

Today, we’re encouraging our staff to:
✨ Remember what inspired them to choose healthcare.
✨ Reflect on the impact they have on our patients and community.
✨ Encourage a teammate.
✨ Find one opportunity to spread kindness.

Throughout the day, our conference rooms will feature a simple question:

💬 “Why do you serve?”

We hope everyone takes a moment to share their answer. Your story could inspire a coworker and remind us all why our mission matters.

Thank you to every member of the Upham’s Community Care family for being the heart of everything we do.

Happy Health Center Week—and here’s to a meaningful week of celebrating our incredible team! 💙

Proud of the incredible work and presentation by Danny Gentile and Kellie St. Martin representing Upham’s Community Care at the Community Health Institute.

Danny and Kellie highlighted how our team expanded telehealth video visits by applying lessons from the technology and design industries to improve the patient experience and increase access to care. Their work helped drive a 28x increase in utilization while improving patient engagement and appointment completion rates — especially for patients who face barriers leaving home.

Their presentation reflected the innovation, collaboration, and patient-centered focus that define Upham’s. Thank you both for representing our organization and sharing this important work with community health center leaders from across the state.

How do we best reach patients who have challenges leaving home? At CHI, Upham's Community Care demonstrated how they took on this challenge and increased their telehealth video visits by 28 times!

Drawing on lessons from the tech and design industries, Upham’s shifted their telehealth model. The results? A dramatic increase in patient access, deeper patient engagement, and higher appointment completion rates.

Thank you for sharing your impact at CHI!
