We're excited to introduce The Rise, a new collaborative learning series led by ASWR.

Through thoughtful, honest conversations, we'll explore the issues shaping our communities, organizations, and systems, including race, disability, inclusion, belonging, and what it takes to create lasting change.

The Rise is about more than talking about challenges. It's about learning from different perspectives, examining the systems around us, and exploring what's possible when we move forward together.

Each month begins with The Call-In and a problem of practice.

Then The Rise moves the learning outward:
Professional learning → Network expertise → Lived and community expertise

Sometimes the signs that you need a mental reset show up before you realize just how drained you’ve been feeling.

Maybe small things feel overwhelming. You’re struggling to focus. You feel emotionally exhausted. Rest doesn’t seem to help, or you’ve been moving through your days on autopilot.

Those moments can be a reminder to slow down and check in with yourself. A reset might look like taking a real break, setting a boundary, getting outside, reconnecting with something you enjoy, or reaching out for support.

Today, we honor and celebrate Indigenous Peoples’ Day, a time to recognize the histories, cultures, resilience, and ongoing contributions of Indigenous peoples and communities.

It is also an opportunity to reflect on the impact of colonization, acknowledge the Indigenous peoples who have cared for these lands for generations, and continue learning from voices and experiences that have too often been overlooked or erased.

Finding the right therapist is about more than credentials, it’s also about connection.

Look for someone you feel safe and comfortable with, who understands the concerns you want to work through, and who offers an approach that feels personalized to you.

The right fit can make it easier to show up honestly, build trust, and do meaningful work toward your goals.

“I’m overwhelmed.”
“I’m exhausted.”
“I can’t stop overthinking.”
“I’ve been carrying too much for too long.”
