Beat the heat. Enjoy the game.
The 2026 World Cup spans June 11 – July 19 across 16 cities in the U.S., Mexico, and Canada — during peak summer. Extreme heat is a serious health risk for fans, workers, anyone outdoors, BUT especially children . Know the risks. Stay safe.
Dress for Success: wear protective clothes like light-colored clothing, hats, sunglasses, and SPF-lined items.
Protect your Skin: Wear sunscreen with 30 SPF or greater. Reapply every 2 hours after swimming and sweating.
Limit Sun Exposure: Avoid outdoor activity during peak sun (10 am-4 pm) and seek out shaded areas. Plan travel, tailgating, and standing in line for cooler morning or evening hours, when possible.
Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of fluids to stay hydrated and take breaks often. Drink before you feel thirsty.
Watch for Symptoms: Be aware of symptoms of heat-related illness and seek medical attention. Symptoms include headaches, muscle cramps, and fevers.
Look out for others: Check in on neighbors and the elderly. Engage in your local community to create and spread awareness of cooling centers.
