BMC Health System has a new set of wheels.

In partnership with Golf Fights Cancer and Man Cave Health, our mobile prostate screening van is bringing prostate cancer education and screening directly to men across greater Boston.

In the van, you can talk with our care team, ask questions, and learn more about your prostate cancer risk. If screening is right for you, we can also provide a simple prostate-specific antigen (PSA) blood test. No digital exam is required, making the process more comfortable for men who may have been hesitant to get screened in the past.

Last night’s Catwalk for Cancer Care brought our community of patients, providers, and supporters together for an evening of resilience and generosity on the runway. At BMC, our Gastroenterology team provides comprehensive, patient-centered care for a wide range of digestive conditions, bringing together a multidisciplinary care team to support every aspect of a patient's care. This team was newly ranked No. 39 among the nation's best by U.S. News and World Report's 2026–2027 Best Hospitals—a recognition trusted by patients nationwide and a reflection of our commitment to treating the whole condition and the whole individual.

For patients living with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), Dr. Lilani Perera leads BMC's Crohn's & Colitis Program, bringing together a multidisciplinary team to provide coordinated, longitudinal care for patients with complex IBD. Her goal is to build a true IBD medical home where patients can access the support they need to manage every aspect of their condition—including care plans that work in real life, not just on paper. "We can come up with the most cutting-edge plan, but if they can't carry it out at home, we are not really serving our patients," she says.

On Friday, October 2, BMC’s Curbside Care Director Alice Cruikshank, MSN, NP, Director of Midwifery Services Rosha Forman, MSN, CNM, and BMC leaders were excited and honored to join the Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation at its annual gala. Curbside Care was put in the spotlight, with Derrick White speaking about the importance of the program. Generously supported by the Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation, with funding from Tufts Health Plan, BMC’s Curbside Care brings postpartum and newborn care directly to the doorstep of families in Boston.

Mark Katz, MD, his patient, Peter Goudy, and event organizer Bryan Fi*****io shared the spotlight with NBC10 Boston host Kwani A. Lunis on NBC10’s morning show, The Hub Today. These “sharp-dressed men” talked about BMC’s Catwalk for Cancer Care event, Wednesday, October 21 at Artists For Humanity. This fashion show fundraiser features BMC cancer patients and clinicians walking the runway, dressed and styled by local designers, with all proceeds benefiting BMC’s Cancer Care Center. During the fashion show, our new prostate screening van will also be rolling in to showcase the importance of health education and earlier screening in our community.
