Want to take a deeper dive into the results of the ASCENT-04 and ASCENT-03 trials and what they could mean for people living with metastatic triple-negative breast cancer?

Check out the latest episode of Patient from Hell, where host Samira Daswani speaks with Dr. Sara Tolaney, Chief of the Division of Breast Oncology at Dana-Farber, about the ASCENT-04 and ASCENT-03 trials, the latest advances in treatment, and how these findings may shape care for people with metastatic triple-negative breast cancer (mTNBC).

In addition to unpacking the new research findings, they discuss:
▪︎ What PD-L1 status means for treatment
▪︎ What are antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) and how they work
▪︎ Why TROP-2 is an important target in TNBC
▪︎ How immunotherapy works
▪︎ Why tumor sequencing matters, including somatic BRCA, TMB, and clinical trial eligibility
▪︎ How clinical trial findings make their way into the oncologist’s office
▪︎ How TNBC treatment has changed over the past 20 years
▪︎ Advice for someone newly diagnosed with metastatic TNBC

*Note: This podcast was recorded before the FDA approval based on these trial results. On June 24, 2026, the FDA approved sacituzumab govitecan (Trodelvy) as a first-line treatment for metastatic triple-negative breast cancer, either alone or with pembrolizumab depending on PD-L1 status.
