You should have a solid draft of your Specific Aims page and be planning to submit your application for either the October 2026 or February 2027 deadlines. -Broad Pragmatic Studies: Proposals requested for studies in mental health and substance use outcomes in pregnancy/postpartum; cancer survivorship; diabetes; neuropathic pain; & management of pain related to intellectual and developmental disabilities or Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementias

-Substance Abuse: Patient-centered comparative CER projects that focus on substance use/misuse, comparing two or more approaches for prevention, screening, treatment, and recovery approaches at the individual, community, or systems level.

-Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities and/or Rare Diseases: CER projects that focus on people living with intellectual and developmental disabilities and/or with rare disease(s) that fills evidence gaps representing critical decisional dilemmas for patients, caregivers, clinicians, policymakers, and other healthcare system stakeholders.
