This blue heron often visits my backyard. Every time she comes, I have to stop and watch her. She is so still and so tranquil. Does she have a message?

“The blue heron symbolizes wisdom, patience, and self-reliance across various cultures. It is often seen as a representation of tranquility and encourages individuals to trust their instincts and embrace solitude for personal growth.”

Zero Balancing amplifies wellness! Oftentimes, we approach bodywork to relieve pain, discomfort, and unease. However, it is just as powerful not only to relieve pain but to amplify what feels good in a person. With someone who carries trauma, we can try to find the part that existed before the trauma. Or in a person with a current illness, we can find within her the healthy part. Come amplify your wellness.

The term “body felt sense” was first used by psychotherapist Dr. Eugene Gendlin in his book Focusing, published in 1978. The term means a “kind of body awareness that profoundly influences our lives. It is not a mental experience but a physical experience. The bodily awareness of a situation or person or an event.” When we have access to this part of ourselves we have the opportunity to change our habits in positive ways.
Bodywork of any kind is one of the ways to access this part of ourselves. Let’s explore this together.

I highly recommend the play “Every Brilliant Thing” being performed on Broadway in New York and around the world. Critics and audiences unanimously agree that Every Brilliant Thing is a deeply moving, surprisingly funny, and profoundly uplifting theatrical experience. By Balancing the topics of depression and su***de with audience participation, the play crafts a communal meditation on gratitude and the little things that make life worth living.

Gil Hedley is one of the most important teachers in the field of Fascial Anatomy. He inspires me with his knowledge, his integrity, and his reverence for the human body. If you want to learn about the human body, follow Gil Hedley!

Here is Gil’s biography:
I started out my adult learning journey at the Divinity School of the University of Chicago, studying for my MA in the study of Religion and my Ph.D. in Theological Ethics after earning a BA in Religious studies at Duke University. During that time, I also became a Certified Rolfer and spent five years studying psychodynamics and energy healing in NYC; I have been an avid student of personal and spiritual development my whole life.
My combined interests and training has supported my personal exploration of the human body and led me to develop an integral approach to the study of human anatomy.
Since 1995, I have led thousands of hours of Hands-On Human Dissection Workshops in the laboratory. Through this in-person work, as well as keynote presentations and online programs and video courses, I have encouraged a great many fellow "somanauts" to appreciate, explore, and embody the wonders of the human form.

Gilhedley.com is the most robust online library of Integral Anatomy teachings, with more than 340+ hours of CE credits. An inspirational learning resource for bodyworkers, movement specialists ~ and anyone seeking a greater connection the wonder of the human body.

“YOUR BONES ARE NOT SOLID. THEY ARE PIEZOELECTRIC CRYSTALS THAT GENERATE ELECTRICITY EVERY TIME YOU MOVE.
You were taught that your skeleton is a dead frame. Calcium scaffolding. A coat hanger for your muscles. That is the biggest lie in anatomy.
Your bones are alive. They contain more nerve endings than your skin. They produce every red blood cell in your body — 2 million per second. They store 99% of your calcium, 85% of your phosphorus, and 60% of your magnesium. Your skeleton is not structural support. It is a chemical factory and an electrical generator.”

My Zero Balancing colleague, Michele Doucette, is a wise and experienced teacher and practitioner.
Zero Balancers are trained to touch bones. Come experience what it feels like to have your bones touched!
