Our Garden to Table program provides elementary schools in Boulder Valley School District (BVSD) with the resources and support to build vegetable gardens and create hands-on learning experiences for students with growing, preparing and eating healthy food. The theme based program allows teachers to integrate lessons with core curriculum and nurture the knowledge, skills and behaviors that lead to wellness and connectedness to their community and natural environment.

Wow! Thanks so much to Jack Johnson and All At Once for having us out to your Denver shows as a partner. We met so many wonderful people (including Jack himself), and we loved getting to share our work with such a caring bunch. 💚💚💚

Just some more sweet pictures of the radish lifecycle lesson- this time at Uni Hill! We love that third graders get such a hands-on experience harvesting seeds, planting them, measuring their growth, and ultimately eating the radishes! 🫜

It’s the weekly Wednesday Spotlight! This week we’re highlighting one of the amazing Garden Leads at Heatherwood Elementary- Laila! When Laila isn’t volunteering at the school garden, she loves hanging out with her family and her animals. She’s also an avid skier and hiker, and we’re grateful to have her on the team! 💚

In the Fall, third graders learn about radish lifecycles and get to experience them first hand! Over summer, we let the radishes go to seed so third graders can harvest the seeds, plant them, and grow baby radishes before winter comes! Here are some pictures from a radish lifecycle lesson at Whittier on Friday!

Happy Weekly Wednesday Spotlight! Today we’re recognizing Leah- our Garden Lead at High Peaks for the last 6 years (!!!). Volunteering with GTT ignited a passion for educating and now she educates all over the metro area about vegetable growing, soil health and compost. On top of that, she owns and operates an urban farm in Boulder, Backyard Roots (Backyard Roots Farm), which has a small CSA, hosts farm dinners and classes. When she’s not working with veggies, Leah loves to gather with friends and family, trail run, ski, and spend time outside in our beautiful state. We’re so glad we got to have such a dedicated volunteer for so many years! 💚🥕☀️

We recently had a rare gathering of all of our staff and board for a little dinner party. What a joy to gather in the same space and enjoy one another’s company! Thanks for hosting, Herb and Denise! 💚

Thanks for having us at the Boulder Theater for the LaurieBerknerBand shows yesterday!! We got to talk to lots of families and draw some yummy veggies. Plus a portion of the ticket proceeds went back to our programming! 💚🥕☀️
