If you're relying only on static X-rays, you may be missing up to 90% of cervical instability.
One of the key findings from our published research identified this motion abnormality that was significantly more common in injured patients than in non-injured individuals. The problem? This finding cannot be properly evaluated on a standard static X-ray.
Static imaging shows structure. Digital Motion X-ray (DMX) shows function.
Many patients continue to suffer from neck pain, headaches, dizziness, or post-collision symptoms despite being told their imaging is "normal." In many cases, the missing piece is evaluating how the spine moves under motion.

This patient came to our office after receiving care elsewhere without any imaging or structural analysis of her cervical spine. She had been instructed to use an inexpensive neck traction device commonly found online. Unfortunately, when we evaluated her spinal biomechanics, we found that the device was actually increasing her forward head posture and intracranial head translation—potentially reinforcing the very mechanical stress contributing to her symptoms.

At Katz Chiropractic & Rehabilitation Clinic, we believe patients deserve more than generic solutions. Every recommendation should be based on objective findings, imaging, and an understanding of the unique biomechanics of that individual's spine.

After reviewing her imaging, discussing the research, and educating her on the structural factors affecting her health, she made the decision herself to retire that device—straight into the trash.

Your spine is too important to trust to internet gimmicks or one-size-fits-all solutions. If you want a thorough evaluation, objective imaging when appropriate, and a clear understanding of what's happening with your neck and how to address it, give our office a call.
