Did you know that some days I spend providing massage to the local Boulder Community Health hospital staff? Though the environment is much less relaxing than my tranquil office, witnessing the stress and tension melt off of these healthcare workers is tremendous. I am grateful and always look forward to these days in my remote office that bring a few moments of compassion and care in the sometimes abusive hospital environment of today. Be kind to those who work in health care, they are experiencing a lot more than you hear on the news. Check in with those you know and ask them how they are doing. Be good to each other out there in this beautiful and chaotic world we share.

Have you experienced massage cupping?

It's a bit different than the fire cupping you might have heard about since I am not using 🔥fire🔥 to create vacuum pressure . Instead, I use a hand pump to lift the connective tissues and muscles up. You can think about cupping as a reverse massage - instead of sinking into the muscles, we are lifting all the tissues. This helps the fascia layer of the body to change the way it is gripping to the muscle tissue allowing for more freedom of movement and resulting in less pain. Ultimately helping you to do more of the things you love ⛷🚴🏿‍♀️🧗‍♂️🕺💃🏼👩‍👧‍👦 Best of all - it doesn't hurt! Sometimes there are "cup kisses" left that look a bit like a bruise. THESE ARE NOT BRUISES! A bruise is caused by blunt trauma/impact. Since these are not caused by blunt trauma/impact, they are not painful and they fade away within a few days.

As of June 10th, Boulder County's face mask covering order expired. Here's a helpful info graphic to use in understanding what this means for you.

Here at Alive & Well-Being, all clients who have been fully vaccinated, and are at least 2 weeks post their last dose, may choose to remove their mask once inside my office. However, please continue to wear your mask inside the wellness center's common spaces.

Bear Peak Summit with my full pack weight for training (NCAR > Fern Canyon > Bear Canyon). This is beautiful and I am grateful. My body feels good as I prepare to thru-hike The Colorado Trail.
